CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST
David Abankwah
READ: Romans 6:6

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

-Galatians 2:20 | ESV

Crucifixion means: 1. to put to death by nailing or binding the wrists or hands and feet to a cross 2. to destroy the power of or mortify, thus to crucify the flesh 3: to treat cruelly or torment. The first Adam who through him, sin entered this world, made the body of the human race affected by the nature of sin and its actions. Man had no power to redeem himself from the nature of sin, which automatically qualified him to be eternal damned. For this reason, any child who is born today is affected by the nature of sin who is Satan and its actions which is the Spirit of lust.

For this reason, everyone from Adam’s regime to the time of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, were all sinners (Romans 6:23). They were all under what is normally called the LAW OF SIN. If someone was ever called righteous in the time of the law, his righteousness superseded the people in his time, but before God, that person’s righteousness was like a filthy rag (Isaiah 64:6). So no matter the sacrifice of animal’s blood man offered, it was not enough to take away the sins and iniquities they did. This is because, the soul of man is costly than the soul of an animal.

Now, Jesus Christ who is the second Adam, has planted the LAW OF FAITH. It is the grace that has been granted for the remission of man’s sins through the cross. It is the blood of Jesus Christ that can only take away the past sins of man and also deal with the nature of sin. This is because the blood of a God is costly than the blood of mortals. Justification is the status one has after the person has been baptised by immersion. When you are dipped into the water, it means you have died with Christ and when you are raised, it means you are now alive with Him. After that, that is not all.

You see, after Jesus Christ was raised from the death, He ascended into heaven after 40 days, but why are we not ascended after our baptism? There is something you must do. Satan and lust are not convinced you are a true Christian. You have to prove yourself worthy of the new status you have. You have to overcome the passions and desires of what Satan and lust are bringing by nailing them down on your cross (Galatians 5:24). So once saved, forever saved doesn’t work. You must do the works of faith. One of the laws of faith is that, you have to take up your cross and follow Jesus.

Stay Blessed
