ELEMENTAL HOPE
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 3
But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me HOPE when I was upon my mother’s breasts.
-Psalm 22:9 | KJV
There was a certain experiment done for two mice. One was put in a dark room with no opening of light and one was put in another dark room with an opening where light entered. When several days passed, the one in the dark room where there was no opening for light to enter, died whereas the one who had small rays of light entering in was weak but was alive. What does this teach you? The mouse who had a small light entering in, had hope that, whatever the situation would be, as long as there was light at the end of the tunnel, he would get out of there.
I believe the saying that goes that, ‘There is light at the end of the tunnel’ was coined from of this experiment.
That little light gave the mouse the hope it really needed and that kept it alive. Even though weak as a result of the harsh condition of darkness it encountered, the enormous darkness around it was not enough to comprehend with the beacon of light that entered. I don’t know the darkness you are in right now. If only you will trust in the light of Jesus Christ, you will never faint in faith. Nothing good comes easy and it is your responsibility to have hope that, everything is going to be alright.
The man who invented bulb, tried 99 times and failed. Yet, he had hope that no matter the darkness of failure, the light he was inventing would succeed. And true to his hope, the 100th time, he succeeded. One thing I have realised about people is that, they least want to face challenges, but least do they know that, success is about challenges. Anytime you are doing something and you are challenged, know that you are on your way to success. We could not have had light around us if the inventor of bulbs quitted on 52nd attempt. In this life, God wants us to have hope.
Every human has a level of challenges he has to go through. The God who made success, also made failure. He created good and made evil. He created New Jerusalem and made Lake of fire also. He created happiness and made sorrows. He created life and made death. He is a God of two’s. See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I KILL, and I make ALIVE; I WOUND, and I HEAL: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. -Deuteronomy 32:39 KJV. In all these, have hope in God, no matter the circumstances around you.
Stay Blessed
