READ: Psalms 23:4
As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
-Isaiah 66:13 | KJV
God is a God of two’s. He brought two contrasting things that were in Him into this universe especially the earth and heaven. He knew very well that, some angels He would create would sin against Him, yet He created them. He also knew men He would create would be sons of perdition, yet He created them. His elect angels and men also, He brought them into being, people and angels He foresaw and foreknew before the world begun, depicting how Omniscient He is. Nothing escapes God and everything that had happened, is happening and will happen is before Him.
The fact that you are going through situation A or B as His child, doesn’t mean that, God has rejected you. It is Him who created good and evil. He made darkness and created light. He made situation and created solution. He made mourn and created comfort. He knows how He would comfort you in times of your distress. God knows very well that the journey of life wouldn’t be easy. He knows that there will be times that you will not get what you want. He knows very well that, people who are very dear to you would die. He knows very well that, you will starve not because you want to fast, but because, there is no food.
He knows very well that, people would betray, forget to remember you and show signs of ungratefulness that will hurt you so much. He knows that many people will break the truce they have with you. Killing yourself won’t solve your sorrows. Weeping may last for a night, but joy will surely come in the morning. This is why He has sent His Spirit of comfort or solace to help us when we enter into diverse arenas of pain. One thing people should know about is that, life is not only about cozy patterns or fun fairs but entails serial troubles and miseries.
In Christianity too, it is even worse. The distress of the world heightens because Satan knows that, the New Jerusalem you have tragetted to go, is bereft of sorrow, worry, pain, death and every situation. He knows that, man will forever be happy with His Maker so he would do everything possible to bring you down. As far as he tried on Jesus, he will by all means try it on us as His followers. A servant is not greater than His master. When you go through pain, know very well that, the Holy Spirit is there to comfort you. As a mother comforts his children, so will He comfort you in times of sorrow.
