ANTSY
David Abankwah
READ: 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
-John 14:1 | KJV

Antsy is to think about problems or fears; to feel or show fear and concern because you think that something bad has happened or could happen; to make (someone) anxious or upset or to cause (someone) to worry. I have noticed something concerning my short space of life. Humans by nature become worried when they lack something, when they have lost something or when they are in need of something they are not getting. I once got a feel about the word antsy when one of my cousins got lost for two days. As for me I knew there was no place we were going to find her from because the life she was living that time was not good at all.

She goes out at will and comes home at any time she wanted, so it was no news for me that she was missing. Yet, her mother was too worried that her daughter more than I did. The bloodline from mother to daughter was so stronger than the bloodline of cousin to cousin because ‘blood is thicker than water.’ I saw impatience, fidgeting, fear, concern, and anxiousness as a sudden turn of fortunes could happen at a blink. The father announced for a search for her daughter on a frequency modulation (fm) station but to no avail. As we were very worried about her, can you believe that, she was very comfortable in the arms of a foolish boy.

No one kidnapped her but she had kidnapped herself in a room with her boyfriend all in the name of love and she was unconcerned for our search for her. As she was busy destroying her body with fornication, Jesus was also busy trying to save us on the cross. The women of Israel were worried about what was happening to Jesus Christ when she was carrying the cross to Calvary. As He was beaten, spat upon, molested and humiliated, they were so worried about the Messiah. Jesus told them not to worry about was happening to Him but what they should be worried about was the salvation of themselves and their children.

Now we are not worried at all about our salvation. When one is worried, it is because of a broken heart a foolish guy or a stupid girl had given to her. Today, we are worried when we are not getting marriages. We are worried when we are broke. We are worried about our health more than where our souls will be any moment from now. We make our worries bigger than God and we doubt if something good can come up from Him. God is capable of doing everything if you believe in Him and His Son. Our biggest worry should be the lake of fire if we are not doing anything to better our salvation and stop worrying about useless stuffs that will yield us headaches and heart attacks.
