JUDGEMENTAL PROOF
David Abankwah
READ: Acts 17:31
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath bringeth the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
-Job 19:29 | KJV
We all know God to be merciful, full of love and abundant in grace, but is that all He is? I have met people who only knew the grace part of God, but when I opened their eyes to the fact that God is justice who pays people for the evil they have done with punishment, they failed to accept this truth. Today, some believers don’t read their Bibles but follow what other Pastors say. Deceit and false teachings are circulating around which are gradually stealing the hearts of people. The golden rule stands: What you sow is what you will reap. If you sow sin, you will reap the harvest of death and its related consequences.
This is not going to change and there is nothing you can do to change that. The life you are living now is not going to change the Word of God. There are two things that are embedded in the justice nature of God: Punishment and judgement. God has not judged anyone yet but He has punished people to serve as an evidence for what is coming. The destruction of the people in Noah’s time by flood was punishment not judgement. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was also punishment not judgement. There are several other evidences that show the judgemental part of God for us to appreciate.
God punishes by cursing. When He wanted to punish Adam, Eve and the serpent, He cursed them. There are some crisis you are going through now that are certain curses God has placed on your life because of what you have done some time ago. Maybe you have forgotten about it but God still remembers. He can curse you by letting people forsake you when you need urgent help. He can punish you by confusion, rebuke in everything you put your hand to. He can punish you by fever, inflammation, scorching heat, drought, blight, mildew, and all kinds of plagued that no amount of treatment can cure them. You will put effort in doing things, but you will never succeed.
Evidence of God’s punishment on His people was when God took their lives by splitting the earth to swallow them, striking them with fire, giving charge to serpents to kill them and all that. These were deterrents for us that there is something greater than this coming. If you are a believer don’t think you have escaped God’s punishment if you live in sin. Today people are not afraid of God at all. They fear Satan more than God but the Great white throne of judgement is most dreadful. Everyone will appear before this judgement seat of Christ Jesus and whatever one has done with one’s body, will be accounted for (2 Corinthians 5:10).
