LOVE IS DIVERSE
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 3

….charity envieth not….
-1 Corinthians 13:4 | KJV

Envy is the painful or resentful awareness of an advantage, enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage or in simple terms, envy is the feeling of wanting to have what someone else has. I don’t want to sound gender biased here, but truth be told, women are weaker when it comes to envying. They can envy to the point that, they become envious of the nails of what someone else’s has. Envy is one character that, when you have, you will never go forward. How long are you going to be envious of everything everyone has?

Even when you have everything that everyone has, what are you going to do with them? Yet, some people are not bothered at all about the adverse consequence that envy brings. Hypertension, pressure, fear, intimidation and other cardiovascular health impairments are the products of the equation of envy. As you become envious, it creates a lump of bitterness within the heart. It also makes you become fearful anytime you see the person, disrupting your mood in the process. It also hampers your nerves, making coordination of certain signals within the body slower, making you behave abnormally.

Envy also slows brain activity making you lack peace of mind. Instead on concentrating on good stuffs, you see yourself wasting time on things you are not going to have. Not only women are envious, males also have a problem in this area. A guy can see a lady. He almost has all the body parts a lady has, yet a guy can be envious of a lady’s backside. You see him turning back to look at it again. Don’t you have a backside, man? Why don’t you look at yours? All sorts of lusts are associated with envy. Without envy, you will never lust after the things people have.

The reason why many people seek dubious means of making wealth is the riches or wealth they have seen other people having. Envy won’t take you anywhere. Envy destroys your beautiful soul and will hinder your salvation. Envy is not part of the dictionary of love. When you have love, you will seek to better the lives of others. You will be happy when they are more successful than you. With the destiny that each of us have, we are not going to be the same. Instead of derailing someone from going forward, push them to attain greater heights. Who knows what would come of tomorrow? When love leads, envy can never be a follower.
