LOVE IS DIVERSE
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 10
Rejoiceth not in iniquity…..
-1 Corinthians 13:6 | KJV
Iniquity and sin are two separate words. Sin is the transgression of the law of God but iniquity involves various actions of evil to cover up for one sin. For you to understand very well, let me use this instance. An iniquity is being committed, when a guy gives money for her girlfriend to abort her pregnancy after fornication. He has fornicated which is sin, but for him to cover up for this sin, he goes further to abort the baby so that no one knows of it again. There are various iniquities committed in the Bible for our references.
A typical example of iniquity in the Bible was when King David slept with Bathsheba and when she was pregnant, David went on to kill Uriah, the husband, in the process, to cover up for his sin (2 Samuel 11:1-17). Even though God forgives sin and iniquity, the consequence of iniquity thereafter, is greater than sin and it takes more righteousness to neutralise iniquities. Even if you wilfully sin after knowing the truth and return to ask for forgiveness, there is no forgiveness which will come without God punishing you before (Hebrews 10:26-27), then, what will be the outcome of those who commit iniquity?
Iniquity is not something you should ever think of doing and never in your life, rejoice or support those who do it. If you have the love of God, you will surely reproof, correct, rebuke and instruct people when you see them engaging in the acts of iniquities. But what do we see now? Even now, instead of Christian parents buying Bibles for their children to use in school, you see them buying condoms for them, just because they are afraid their children will have sexually transmitted diseases when they engage in sex. You are not afraid of lake of fire but you are afraid of STDs. How pathetic!
When you go deep into their lives, you will see that, these same people are elders, deacons, and those who call themselves ministers of God. You call yourself a Christian but you secretly lead your children to abort their pregnancies, then you return to church to hold microphone and sing. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You call evil good, and good evil and still claim everything is normal. When your daughter goes into marriage and become barren, then, you will see how stupid parent you have become. We don’t need to mourn when people die, but we have to mourn when iniquities are being committed.
