DILIGENCE
David Abankwah
READ: Matthew 25:14-30
Keep thy heart with all DILIGENCE; for out of it are the issues of life.
-Proverbs 4:23 | KJV
There is nothing sustaining that you can ever achieve in this life and ministry without having the heart of diligence. Nothing ever can be accomplished if you are always wanting the cheap side. There are children who are enjoying today just because of the riches and wealth that their fathers and forefathers had achieved out of diligence. Imagine if these parents were lazy in their time, they wouldn’t have been able to lay down a very good foundation for their children to lay the building blocks on. No one is going to instill hardwork in you, it is you who have to develop such attitude.
No one was born with a persevering application, steady mindset, earnest attitude, energetic effort and speedy or hasty mode of work. One opportunity God gives us is time. Every age and what you can do with it. That is why the Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 12:1 that: *Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”*. If what you have to do now is not done today, there wouldn’t be any tomorrow for you. If first things are not done first, it will surely lose its value. There are many youth today who are wasting their strengths on useless stuffs.
They think they have all the time for themselves only for them to realise that, time and tide wait for no man. As the days go by, you have to realise that, you are aging. Just look into the mirror now and cast your mind back in time. You will see that, you have changed. The way you are now is not the same as you were some years back. There is no going back in time so don’t waste time now if you don’t know Jesus Christ. Don’t procrastinate your salvation because you have today, but tomorrow is not within your grasp. As you serve God, know that it is all about diligence.
If you are not diligent you can’t have eternal life. Salvation is the most precious thing one can ever get in this world and the journey to the celestial city is not an easy one. If you are not determined to go to New Jerusalem, you will be easily distracted by laziness, offences, and stumblingblocks. If you are lazy, you can’t pray always, fast, read your Bible, go to church, evangelise, and do the works of salvation. If you are a minister of God and you are lazy, you can never fulfill your purpose on this earth. You will be judged based on how diligent you used your gifts for the profit of Christianity.
