YOKE OF BONDAGE
David Abankwah
READ: Galatians 2:4

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
-Galatians 5:1 | KJV

One thing I have realised about most believers now is that, they take certain portions of the Bible they can obey and leave others, thinking the Bible was referring to certain category of people. For instance, when the Bible says ‘A woman should cover her head as a sign of honour and power because of angels’ – 1 Corinthians 11:5, 10, many women of today who have been brainwashed by their Pastors, see Paul talking to the church of Corinth and not them, but you will see these funny believers quoting verses like Galatians 5:1 as a Scripture of freedom.

They are wise to quote certain verses like these as they feel these ones are applicable to them just because, they know these ones are easier to obey. I always say that, it will be very difficult for a woman to go to heaven than man just because, quotations like Deuteronomy 22:5, 1 Corinthians 11:5 and 10 will disqualify many. Every word in the Bible is divinely inspired, so if you credit and discredit some, I don’t know which New Jerusalem you want to go. Your Pastor is not the one who is going to judge you. Read the Bible and obey the word of God, Period!

Stop saying my Pastor says this, my Pastor says that, as if it is your Pastor who is going to judge you. I don’t know why certain believers are so foolish like that! These same people read fat handouts in school for the purpose of receiving certificates at the end, but when it comes to their salvation, reading the Bible becomes a tug of war. You want to go to New Jerusalem and you are joking like there is nothing at stake? If going to heaven is easier, then, Jesus Christ who came from there, could have returned without the suffering of the cross.

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross for the purpose of salvation, is only applicable to those, who believe and accept Him as their Lord and Personal Saviour. After that, that is not the end. You have to work out your salvation so that you will not return to the yoke of bondage Jesus Christ set you free from. It will shock you that, there are many who claim once saved is forever saved, but these same people are the ones who are entangled by the yoke of bondage. Instead of working, they are sitting down idle claiming Jesus Christ had done everything for them.
