WALK WITH GOD
David Abankwah
READ: Deuteronomy 5:33
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do JUSTLY, and to love MERCY, and to walk HUMBLY WITH THY GOD?
-Micah 6:8 | KJV
Walking with God is obeying His Word. The Word too is not just the written word called the Bible, but He is God. His name is Jesus Christ (Revelation 19:11-13). So if you want to walk with God the Father as most religions think they are serving Him, you have to pass through the Word who is Jesus Christ. You can say all sorts of bad things about Him and dishonour Him, yet, there is no One else for you to pass through. He is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6). You can’t walk with God if you don’t want to pass through Jesus Christ.
If you don’t walk with the Son Jesus Christ, you can’t walk with God. Imagine writing an application for a job. The best person for you to address your application to is the resource manager. If there is one and you think you are smarter and wiser enough to address the letter to the CEO (Chief Executive Officer), you will find your brown envelope in the dustbin. Even here in this world, there are people we delegate power and authority to and necessary protocols must be followed, yet, when it comes to matters of our salvation, many are skeptical.
The fact that you don’t believe in the Son doesn’t lower His power and authority. One thing I love about Jesus Christ is that, God the Father, has exalted Him above Himself (Psalm 138:2) and has given Him authority to judge everyone (John 5:23). Imagine facing Jesus Christ whom you hated and dishonoured while you were here on earth, sitting on His throne judging you. What will you feel Muslim? What will you feel Buddhist? What will you feel Hare Krishna? What will you feel Illuminati? What will you feel worshipper of gods?
The Word of God is so common to us everywhere. It is noticed that, everything that becomes common is normally undervalued. Nevertheless, God still wants us to be aware so that we will not have any excuse or whatsoever in the day of judgement. Walking with God requires justice, mercy and humility. Follow the good examples in the Bible and shun the bad ones. Be a learner of righteousness and holiness and not evil. Note that, birds of the same feather, flock together. So if you are not Christ-like, you can’t walk with God.
