DAYS OF OLD
David Abankwah
READ: Luke 15:11-32

Remember the DAYS OF OLD, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.
-Deuteronomy 32:7 | KJV

Remembrance is an important key to success. When you marry, it is not success. When you buy a car, it is not success. When you build a house, it is not success. When you are rich and wealthy, it is not success. When you have many properties, it is not success. When we say success, there is only one success I know. That is the success of entering into New Jerusalem. All the things here on earth, do not benefit the soul. Only spiritual things benefit the soul and it is what will enable the real man return from where he or she came from.

We all came from God. God is our heavenly Father (Matthew 6:9). Every soul of men comes from the breath of the life of God who is Jesus Christ (Genesis 2:7; John 14:6; John 1:3-4). The reason why God has brought us here on earth is for us to serve Him. Every child serves His parents. The main thing still remains the main thing but now, many have deviated from this purpose because of forgetfulness. Forgetting God is like travelling into a far country. As you got there, you have forgotten where you came from and the family you had. How pathetic to forget your days of old!

Everyone who doesn’t remember, is an ungrateful person. The reason why blessing doesn’t sustain is because of forgetfulness. You didn’t succeed by doing it alone. People helped you to become who you are. Likewise, it is God who created you to become who you are today. Don’t forget Him. That is why in Deuteronomy 32:7, we were asked to consider our days of old and years of many generations. Carefully considering where you came from, you will realise in Jeremiah 1:5 that, someone created you in your mother’s womb. It is Him who established you.

If you want to know your real identity, ask your Father who is God and He will show you who you really are. Ask the elders who are Christians and they will tell you the route of where you came from, and how to work your salvation to get there again. New Jerusalem is your home. Don’t let anyone twist your mindset towards sin and iniquity which will end you in the lake of fire. Remember your home and return as soon as possible. Father is expecting you to return home as He sits on His throne watching at the horizon to welcome His prodigal child (Luke 15:20).
