AS THE WATERS

David Abankwah

READ: Hosea 4:6

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

-Habakkuk 2:14 | KJV

Imagine seeing the estuary where several waters from all over the world join the sea. For these waters, they see the sea as an already established water body which doesn’t need any addition, yet, they see the need as a great opportunity to join forces or allies with the sea. The sea doesn’t need these waters. It is the waters that need the sea to be partakers of the glory of the sea. That applies to God and man. Like the sea, God doesn’t need us. As the waters, it is us who need God.

This knowledge of seeing that you need God more than He needs you is what most of us are lacking now. When we think it through, we will realise that God does more things for us than just what we do for Him, yet we say we are serving Him. God serves us more than we serve Him. He cares for us more than how we care for His work and things that concern Him. He protects and defends us against our enemies, yet how many of us are willing to stand for God and defend His name in the midst of unbelievers?

God loves us more than we love Him and His Son Jesus Christ. Many claim they love God by word of mouth not by actions of faith. If you are filled with the knowledge of God, you will surely work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. If you want to know if you have the knowledge of God, take note of the things you are mindful of. If you are married, you are probably mindful of your spouse, children and how you can take care of them. For this case, your knowledge about God diminishes as time goes on.

If you are single, you are probably thinking of how you can prepare yourself for marriage. Your focus of getting money becomes more intense as you develop more time for secular work. Satan is making every opportunity available to divert your waters from forming allies with the sea of God. Be vigilant and be circumspect in these end times. Be focused on the knowledge of God more than anything else. We should meditate upon the Word of God all the time and do exactly as God entreats us to, because, there is no excuse in the day of judgement.
