LIFE AS WIND

David Abankwah

READ: Psalm 103:13-16

O remember that my life is wind: mine eye shall no more see good.
Job 7:7 | KJV

In this world, there is no one who is going to live eternally. The evidence of this is that, those who have lived before us are no more. There had been generations upon generations who had lived on this earth, many had left legacies and many had died as common men, yet, all of them are no more. What makes man is something called the breath of God which is wind. Before man could become a living soul, it was the wind from God’s breath that brought about the soul of men and the breath of life. It is that wind that enables the soul to live in this physical world by bridging the soul to the body.

It is not your diploma, HND, Degree, Masters or PhD, the money you have or the drugs or diet supplements you take in or the amount of exercise you do that makes you live. It is the wind within you that makes you lively. The day God takes away that wind, no amount of exercise, certification, medicine or money can save you. The day this wind leaves you, is the day that your name as a ‘person’ changes into the name of a ‘thing’. Life of a human is like a balloon. When there is air, it can fly around, but when there is puncture, the balloon bursts and the balloon that used to fly around for all people to see, is tattered into shreds.

Yet, in all the creation of God, it is humans who are very proud. With all the life in us as wind, many are too proud as if they are self-made. It is humans who have worried God from the time He created us untill today, humans are still worrying God. The moment God gave humans the chance to rule over the things He had created was the day man began to be proud. So you will realise that, when power is being given to people, their behaviour changes. They no longer move with the friends they first had. They no longer eat from where they used to. They then require people to call them certain names because of their position and they feel less honoured when these titles are not given.

There was a certain Pastor’s wife who got mad at a church member just because the person refused to address her as ‘Prophetess’. This proud Pastor’s wife told this person that he had degraded his post. What will position do to you? Instead of thinking about your life which you have now but tomorrow you may not have, and start doing something better with you life, you are here thinking about position. You are here thinking about your body more than your soul. Today many women spend hours behind the mirror but they can’t spend time with God. One day this wind will leave you and you will give account unto God.
