THE WORD AT HEART

David Abankwah

READ: Luke 2:19

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

-Psalms 119:11 | KJV

When God created man, He created him to have a body and a soul. The soul lives in this physical world by the reason of a clothing called body. The body helps the soul to interact with the physical world through five physical senses. There are two types of spirits available: The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Satan. They are also two seats because each one of them is termed as Master. That is why Matthew 6:24 says that, you can’t serve two masters. God then opens the eyes of the baby to see these two kingdoms.

That is why anytime a baby is born, he or she cries. Then after a while God closes the eyes of the baby until the age of 12 years. So you will bear with me that, from the age of 1 to the age of 12, every child can bath anywhere, piss everywhere and do things any adult cannot do. This is because, the eyes have not been opened yet. But after 12 years, the child who used to bath outside begins to realise, it is not right to do so anymore. This is when the eyes of the child has been opened to good and evil as likened to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden when they ate the forbidden fruit.

God then begins to count the sins and iniquities of the child against him. So from adolescence, that is when the child starts to choose one of these kingdoms or seats by living a life of righteousness or a life of evil. This is when the child begins to possess one of these Spirits. So you can see in the life of Jesus Christ that, He began to possess the Spirit of God at the age of 12 (Luke 2:40). The Spirit of God led Him to the temple to teach for three days (Luke 2:42-47). Jesus had the Word at heart just because He had the Spirit of God.

The Word of God is the fuel of the Spirit of God John 6:63). The more you read or hear the Word being preached, the more the Spirit of God sips into your heart and the more you begin to do what the Word says is when the Spirit of God sips into your soul. If you have anything to be busy about, be busy about your works of salvation especially concerning Bible reading, studying and meditation. Don’t go to church once a week and expect the Spirit of God to come into you. He only stays in those who have the Word at heart and those who have the Word at heart cannot sin.
