THE STRENGTH OF GOD
David Abankwah
READ: Acts 1:8
And he shall stand and feed in the STRENGTH OF THE LORD, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
-Micah 5:4 | KJV
Strength doesn’t come by bodybuilding. Strength doesn’t come by taking in vitamins or dietary supplements. Strength doesn’t come by the engagement of vigorous exercises. Strength doesn’t come by being cautious of what you eat. Strength doesn’t come by regular health check-ups. Strength is a Spirit. He is called the Spirit of God. What makes God mighty, all powerful, unbeatable, unshakable, unbreakable, unstoppable, unrelentless and never weak from the time of creation till now, is His Spirit. What makes God the Supreme Being, is His Spirit!
What is the use of physical strength, when evil spirits can chase you down in dreams? What is the use of physical strength when demons can sleep with you at will? What is the use of physical strength when your soul is fed in the Spirit by witches? What is the use of physical strength when you can’t fight against Satan and defeat him? What is the use of physical strength when sin and iniquity overpower, override and outwit your soul always? What is the use of physical strength when your health can be impaired any point in time by diseases you don’t even expect?
Strength comes in levels. The soul of man is stronger than the souls of animals. The spirit of an angel is stronger than the soul of man (having no Spirit of God). The Spirits of the twenty-four elders are stronger than the Spirits of angels. The Spirits of the four living creatures are stronger than the twenty-four elders. But the overall strength, power and authority lies in the Spirit of God because it is Him who have the final sway. It was part of His strength that was used to create all these beings. No soul or Spirit can stand before the Spirit of God in battle for one second!
This mighty Spirit is one of the seven Spirits of God seen by Apostle John in the Book of Revelation 4:5 as the seven torches of fire before the throne of God. This mighty Spirit (Isaiah 11:2) was behind the strength of the most strongest man in the Bible – Samson. We are also privileged to have Him if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Personal Saviour. It is only Jesus Christ who can ask the Father to bless us with this awesome Spirit. When He comes, you will have power (Acts 1:8) to defeat SIN which is the most difficult enemy of all time. The one who defeats sin is the one who can enter into New Jerusalem.
