SEXUAL IMMORALITY

²⁷“You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery.’ ²⁸But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

There is no divorce in Christian marriages but only on the ground of extramarital affair. But even that, make sure that you don’t feel any lust for anyone otherwise you stand the risk of eternal damnation. The one who divorces his or her spouse without the ground of adultery, is seen by God as an adulterous person. Marriage is not a contract you can sign and terminate at any given time. So when you are entering into marriage, you have to prepare very well. There are many believers who will go to hell just because of their marriages. If your marriage is taking you to hell, how much more your children whom you will account for their souls?
You can’t also marry and have another lover somewhere else. You can’t own a farm and have a backyard garden at the same time. That’s nonsense! There is another adultery that comes as a result of virtualization. Sexual fantasy is having sex with someone through imagination unrestricted by reality or feeling lust after someone who is not physically present. Sexual fantasy is what brings about masturbation. Evil thoughts make you a sinner. God expects our minds to be focused on things that concern Him (Mark 12:30) and not things that will defile our souls.
A sexual fantasy is one sin that no one can see. It is very dangerous because no one can see it and advice you to stop it. Sexual fantasy is one of the hidden sins many believers are not particular about. There are believers who go to church and still feel lust for other church members even when sermon is being preached. Even in the midst of church meetings, there are people who watch pornography because of how addicted they had become. God is not served through physical contact but through the mind and heart. It is very important to keep these organs in check so that they don’t go out of bounds.
There are so many implications of engaging oneself in adultery. Adultery brings about death (Leviticus 20:10). Adulterous people are crazy and only destroys themselves (Proverbs 6:32). Adultery brings about land pollution (Jeremiah 3:9). Adultery brings about the judgement of God’s wrath and jealousy (Ezekiel 16:48). Adultery brings about disgrace, shame and humiliation (Hosea 2:2). Adultery brings about divine punishment (Hosea 4:14). Adulterous people at cursed! (2 Peter 2:14). Adultery brings about diseases and great tribulations (Revelation 2:22). Adultery is a sin that will block you from going to New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:8).
Prayer Diary: As I keep my mind and heart in check against all sexual fantasies, Lord please deliver my soul from all evil influences in Jesus name, Amen.
