DIVINE STRENGTH
David Abankwah
READ: Micah 5:4

Seek the Lord and HIS STRENGTH, seek his face continually.
-1 Chronicles 16:11 | KJV

The strength of God is the Holy Spirit. He is the source of the strength of the Godhead. It is the intention of every child that his father is more stronger than those who bully him around. So whenever the child is gallivanting with his father, he has the inner conviction that no enemy of his never appears otherwise he would notify his father of the incoming enemy to be dealt with. That is what it is when you have the Holy Spirit. There is an inner conviction that you are unbreakable!, unbeatable!, unshakable and indomitable! in the presence of your enemies. There is no shadow of fear or intimidation.

Before you can get the strength of God, you first have to seek the Lord Jesus Christ. It is only Jesus Christ that can ask the Father the permission to pour out His strength in you (John 14:16) That is one of the benefits you get when you give your life to Him as your Saviour and Master. The strength of God is very crucial in the life of every believer. Before you can have eternal life you have to get the strength of God first. Satan and all his evil spirits first lived with the strength of God in heaven but they could not become righteous people. They lived with God but they could not have eternal life.

The fact that you speak in tongues does not ascertain that you have the strength of God. You can go to church everyday but you may not have the strength of God. Because Satan and his angels were overthrown, they have also made it a point to prevent the images of God from going there. So their sole aim is to prevent Christians from having the strength of God through sin which is the abomination of the strength of God because, He is Holy. The only thing that can prevent you from having the strength of God is sin. We wrestle against all these spirits (Ephesians 6:12) and we have to defeat all of them.

In this case, the believer does not have to rest, be complacent and be lazy. A lazy Christian will always be defeated by the devil. You have to seek the face of the strength of God daily. You don’t pray today and rest tomorrow. You don’t fast today and retire tomorrow. You don’t go to church on Sundays and stay home on weekdays. You don’t read your Bible only when you are in crisis. You don’t win a soul just because you have the plan to marry the person some time to come. The strength of God needs to be developed always. Like fire, you have to fan the strength of God with prayer, fasting, Bible reading and meditation, evangelism etc to maintain His blazing power always!

Prayer Diary: Lord Jesus, as I seek you daily and walk in your ways, please bless me with your strength to seal me through the challenging situations of Christianity and the arsenals of the devil in Jesus name, Amen
