LIGHT OF LIFE

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the LIGHT OF LIFE.”
-John 8:12 | NKJV

When people become famous, we often term that as stars. Even worldly celebrities who are drawing people into hell are also called stars just because of how influential they have become. Even though they shine in dead works, they still have followers. But today, I want to testify someone who is the star of life. His star shone 2000 years ago and has not stopped since. His name is Jesus Christ. He is the only one whose star can give you life.

After His birth, His star led the wise men to His side (Matthew 2:2-11). His great light of birth was also announced by angels to the shepherds who were watching over their sheep at night (Luke 2:8-20). We were sitting in darkness through sin and iniquity, yet His great light shone on us. We were in the region and shadow of death, yet, His great light dawned on us (Matthew 4:16). Accepting Him as your Lord and Personal Saviour will usher you into His light of life (John 3:16).

What is life if you are always sitting in darkness? What is life if your soul is bound to the devil? What is life if your deeds do not portray that you are a child of the light? What is life if you have the whole world but lacks the light of life? What is life if your deeds can’t follow you in the afterlife? Such a waste of time will it be if you spend all your life in this world without knowing Jesus Christ – the light of this world. The light of life is time-bound! It ceases to shine after your death.

You don’t have to be the rich man to realise your mistake of ignoring the light of life. The pain, agony, gnashing of teeth, the horror and terror associated with those who shunned this light of life is far dangerous than you can ever imagine. The eternal punishment is endless! The darkness you chose to live in will too gloomy for your liking! Note that every day is a chance for you to embrace this light of life. You may have today, but you may not have tomorrow to accept this light of life into your life.
