WORD, GRACE AND TRUTH
David Abankwah
READ: 2 John 1:3

And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of GRACE and TRUTH.
-John 1:14 | NKJV

Knowing the Word of God is good but is the Word in you? Knowing how to quote few Scriptures is also good but are you full of the Word? Knowing how to explain the Word is equally good but are you full of grace and truth that the Word entails? Moses was given the law (John 1:17) for the Israelites to follow but because they were not full of grace and truth they were supposed to have, they were unable to reach the promised land.

There are so many processes the Word of God takes to become grace and truth. First you need to hear the Word so you can develop faith that comes along with it (Romans 10:17). You also need to practise the Word you have heard (James 1:22). This is when the Word (faith becoming a clot of blood in you) metamorphoses into a baby who is the Holy Spirit. Upon constant feeding of Him by the Word, you develop Him into His fullness.

It is in His fullness that, certain glimpses of grace and truth will be seen in you. You will start bearing branches or gifts of the Spirit which include word of wisdom, knowledge, prophecy, speaking of tongues and its interpretation, faith, healing, working of miracles and discerning of spirits. You will also bear His fruits which include faith, love, hope, longsuffering, self-control, goodness, kindness, patience and faithfulness. This will show that you have beheld the glory of the Word of God.

The two major characters that will be seen through you is all about grace thus (a controlled, polite, and pleasant way of behaving or having the skills that are needed for behaving in a polite way in social situations) and truthfulness (telling the truth; containing or expressing the truth). You can’t live a life of habitual erratic, unseemly behaviours and lying and still claim you have the Word of God in you. If you are not graceful and truthful always, and not sometimes, you have failed as a believer!
