INCOMPREHENSIBLE

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness DID NOT COMPREHEND IT.

To comprehend is: ¹to grasp the nature, significance, or meaning of someone or something; ²to contain or hold within a total scope, significance, or amount; ³to include by construction or implication. One day after I closed from church one evening and I was walking along the roadside, I saw one street light which attracted many nocturnal beetles. As I looked close, I could realise they were busy moving around the light and I wondered what at all were they were expecting.
As I watched closely, I could realise that it was not the light they were happy to be around, but they were rather attacking it. As they moved around the light, they tried to hit the light so it could go off. The reason was that, they were animals of darkness or active during the night (nocturnal) and they didn’t need light for their operation. I learnt that, the insects were not comprehensive to the light because they were not understanding why for all their efforts to overcome the light, it was still shining.
As I watched closely I could see that those who understood they were incomprehensible to the light, flew away and were alive but those who were so stubborn to accept that they couldn’t beat light, died. The Holy Spirit also added to what I had learnt that, what I saw was the life of a Christian. Satan and his agents see us from afar more than we do because it is very difficult to detect someone in darkness when you are in light. But their problem is that, when you a child of light, they fear that your light will reveal them.
They also fear that their works will also be revealed by your light, so they will try hard to attack you so your light can go off. Darkness comprehend with light when they are able to switch it off. But when they try hard enough and still they are not succeeding, they now concede defeat for a season. The life of a Christian is in constant threats from the kingdom of darkness. They will always be conscious and unconscious onslaught of the darkness of sin but will you be able to defy the odds of darkness and still shine?
