JESUS CHRIST IS GOD!
David Abankwah
READ: Revelation 1:8
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: GOD WAS MANIFESTED IN THE FLESH, JUSTIFIED IN THE SPIRIT, SEEN BY ANGELS, PREACHED AMONG THE GENTILES, BELIEVED ON IN THE WORLD, RECEIVED UP IN GLORY.
-I Timothy 3:16 | NKJV
Many have their own knowledge about who Jesus Christ is. Some say He is the Messiah. Some say He is not but we should expect another. Some say He is a Prophet. Some say He is a man who lived on earth, married and had children. Some say he doesn’t exist at all. Some say He is the Son of God and nothing more than that. But my question is, if you are a son of God, then who are you? Are you a man or you are a God? This is because a son or daughter of a sheep can’t be a goat neither can it be an antelope nor a deer but rather, a sheep.
I don’t blame many people for their wrong perceptions and misconceptions about the identity of Jesus Christ. This is because the Trinity is misunderstood. We always say God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, but we fail to admit that Jesus Christ who is the Son is God is also a God. Why then do we bring GOD before the Son if He is not what we see Him to be? The Father, Son and the Spirit are not more than one another in terms of identity. One is not God over the other and one is not a subordinate of another. They are at par. That’s why God is one.
The Father is God; the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is also God. You can’t choose to say the Father is God and neglect the Son or the Spirit as insignificant beings. God is three in essence but one in purpose! Water exist in three forms: liquid, gas and ice. You can’t say water has turned into ice so it is no longer water or probably it is gas so it doesn’t fit the bill of becoming water. In Revelation 1:8, Jesus Christ declares Himself as the Alpha and the Omega, He who was and who is and who is to come, the Almighty. He is the I AM THAT I AM in Exodus 3:14.
Philip, one of the disciples asked Jesus Christ about the Father, because He had been speaking about the Father for quite longer without him knowing Him (John 14:8). Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? HE WHO HAS SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
John 14:9 NKJV. If someone say if you are looking for David Abankwah and you have seen me, you have met David Abankwah, what does it mean? You don’t have to inquire again because the person you are looking for, is standing right before you.
