THE WORD ENLIGHTENS

READ: 2 Peter 1:19

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.
-Psalms 119:105 | NKJV

There are so many words we have around. Words of love that encapsulate the seed of affection of someone towards you. Words of encouragement for someone in failure or defeat. Words of advice for someone who wants to take a decision or to make a crucial choice or to live along the rightful path. Political words to win power. Appreciative words for people who have done acts of service with or without charges. Words of sympathy for someone in sorrows especially for the loss of a dear one. All these words are good but none of these brings light to the soul.

The point of interest why we exist on this earth is not about the body but about the soul. The soul lives according to the Word because the Word is the food for the soul. How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth!
-Psalms 119:103 | NKJV. Many souls are spiritually dead just because they are not eating the balanced diet of the Word of God. Many believers are suffering from spiritual malnutrition making them weak in continuing their journeys of eternal life. That’s why there are a lot of shallowness, unfruitfulness and weakness in overcoming temptations.

The road of eternal life is full of dangers. No wonder Jesus Christ terms it as the narrow road (Matthew 7:14). Humans by nature don’t want to go through serial crisis without making a meaning out of their sufferings. But in Christianity, you don’t have to be told the what’s, why’s and how’s of the crisis or darkness you are going through for the sake of your eternal life. Job might have taught it was Satan who was bringing all those darkness in his life but it was God who gave the permission. If you are not rooted in the Word, you will fall.

The Word of God is able to enlighten you to get the understand that, darkness or crisis is part of the walk of faith. The light is able to reveal to you that Christianity is not always about prosperity or blessing. Without the Word, you will stumble on your way to eternal life. The Word is light that will lead you because the Word is a Person (Revelation 19:13). He left footsteps there for you to walk in. Without Him, you will get lost and find your way into one of the 666 ways of Satan. The Word is the only compass that will lead you home. The Bible is the only guidebook for your soul.
