REASONABLE SERVICE
David Abankwah
READ: Galatians 4:8-9
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your REASONABLE SERVICE.
-Romans 12:1 | NKJV
To gain anything, there is a price you must pay. The price you pay for someone or something lies in what is called service. Based on your service that you have rendered, determines your wage. Service is one of the principles God established. Angels were not created to be idle. Man was not created to be idle. The primary work of all angels is to worship and praise God. The primary work of man was for man to stay in the perfect will of God. Being the custodian over the things God had created and the obedience of not eating from the forbidden fruit were all part of the will of God for man’s life.
Thwarted by sin, the wrong service had been given to man to wrought. Instead of man serving God with all his heart, mind, strength, money and all he has, Satan has succeeded in parting that service. Satan has never created anyone before but he has succeeded in getting his sons. He is not a good boss, yet he has succeeded in getting more employees. This is because, the conscience of those who apply for the vacancy to serve in the various offices or departments of sin has been corrupted. The reasoning has been endangered through the darkening of the eyes of the mind.
In the institution of sin, there are about 666 offices you can work in that you may not have any idea about. Sometimes when we are cautioned about the works of Satan, we think we are becoming entangled with the Word of God. We, many a time, want freedom to operate or live our lives the way we want it but self-will contains the necessary particulars which get us the job of sin automatically through lust as the resource manager. In the company of God, your self-will does not hold but God’s will. Faith is the One who will employ you to work for God.
There are certain wages for every service you render for these two bosses. The reasonable service you render to God will yield eternal life but the unreasonable service you render to Satan will also yield the second death (Romans 6:23). There is no part time work here where you can work for God and work for Satan at the same time. There is no intermediary work and there is no intermediary salary of the second death and eternal life. You can only work for one Master (Matthew 6:24). Either Master you work for, you become a slave to sin (Satan) and liberty of righteousness (God).

Lift up prayers for the eyes of your mind and heart to be enlightened so you can have a clear conscience and conviction to attain a reasonable service of righteousness, holiness and sanctification you have to render to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
