LACK OF KNOWLEDGE
David Abankwah
READ: 2 Peter 2:20
My people are destroyed for LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.
-Hosea 4:6 | NKJV
Knowledge, wisdom and understanding are often used interchangeably because many don’t understand them. Knowledge is the information you are aware of. We become aware of information when we hear the Word of God. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. You are not wise if you possess certain knowledge. That is why you can be a graduate with a first class and still be a fool. You become wise when you are able to apply the school knowledge you acquired. Knowledge without its application is tantamount to foolishness. Understanding is the depth of how well you apply that knowledge.
Even though we all learnt civil engineering in school, my understanding can make me own real estates without any loan. You can give two Pastors John 3:16 to exposit. One will write a book with it while the other will struggle to make a teaching note. Though it seems knowledge is not important, knowledge is the foundation of wisdom and understanding. Wisdom and understanding are the building blocks of knowledge. If you lack knowledge, there are many benefits you will lose. First, knowledge is one of the branches of the Spirit of God (Exodus 31:3).
Second, knowledge leads to sacrifices (Leviticus 4:23). Third, knowledge brings about enlightenment (Numbers 24:16). Fourth, knowledge breeds encouragement, anytime you share what you know with others (2 Chronicles 30:22). Fifth, when you have the knowledge of God in you, the fear of God will be your portion. Sixth, knowledge brings about liberty (Isaiah 5:13). Seventh, knowledge brings about nourishment (Isaiah 5:13). Eighth, knowledge brings about stability in life and ministry (Isaiah 33:6. Ninth, knowledge strengthens one’s salvation.
Tenth, knowledge brings about justification (Isaiah 53:11). Eleventh, knowledge eliminates dull-heartening behaviours (Jeremiah 10:14; 51:17). Twelfth, one can build when one has knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Thirteenth, knowledge brings about divine appointment (Hosea 4:6). Fourteenth, knowledge leads to divine remembrance (Hosea 4:6). Fifteenth, knowledge is the key that unlocks the doors of treasurable things (Luke 11:52). Sixteenth, knowledge awakens one’s righteousness (1 Corinthians 15:34).
