READ: Matthew 25:14-30
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.
-Luke 16:10 | NKJV
A trustee is someone whom something is legally committed to be administered for the benefit of a beneficiary. After God created man to be His image and likeness, He legally committed everything He had created in the world into his hands. Man began his mission of stewardship when he tended and kept the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:15). He went on to give names to the things God had created. Meanwhile, God was keeping an eye on his job as a trustee. At the back of God’s mind, all the things He had entrusted into the hands of man were ‘little things.’
After God saw that, man had passed the test of faithfulness concerning the little things He entrusted into his hands, a help meet who was much worthier or precious than the former ‘little things’ he was entrusted with. This is because the soul of man is greater than the souls of animals he named. God made the help meet and entrusted her into the hands of man. Man had to be a steward of her too. God didn’t make marriage as an avenue to set one free from sexual lust. Marriage is a form of stewardship if you don’t know.
Today many people marry because of money, fame, dignity, bill sharing, status quo, sex, or obligation to do so because everyone is marrying. You are a trustee of your marriage. If your husband or wife goes to hell, you are in trouble. This is because two shall be one. If one is going to hell, definitely you are likely to follow suit if you failed to do your job as a trustee. You will give account of your children as products of your marriage. That is why you need to resign from ministry if your household is in perversion. You are a trustee of everything God had given to you.
You are a trustee of your Godliness, ministry, social life, health, corporate world, family, marriage life, financial life and what have you. You are a trustee of your body. You can’t bleach, tattoo, or wear any dress you feel like wearing. You can’t speak or think anyhow. One day you will stand before God in judgement and whatever He entrusted into your hands, you will give account of them (2 Corinthians 5:10). Anyone who fails to pass the faithfulness test of judgement, will suffer eternal damnation in the lake of fire (Matthew 25:30).
