THE CARING FATHER
David Abankwah
READ: Psalms 55:22

Casting all your care upon Him, for HE CARES FOR YOU.
-I Peter 5:7 | NKJV

To care for someone is: to have painstaking or watchful attention; to regard for someone that comes as a result of desire or esteem; to charge or supervise people; to have an inclination for people; to have a liking or fondness for people and to be concerned about the interests of people. When one is not showing the care one has to, we normally term that person as a careless person (thus care + less). There is a feeling of worthiness when we are cared for. Everyone likes to have someone who cares for his needs and wants. Sometimes it is not money people need but communication.

Caring is not only about material needs. Sometimes people need certain acts of services. Often times, people need gifts. In romantic relationship, you can’t forego caring. It looks as if certain spiritual brothers wants God to propose for them. The time that God caused Adam into deep sleep, presented Eve to him without any proposal has passed. Even though God still selects spouses, it takes caring to win the lady’s heart. To have a woman’s heart, you can’t bypass caring. A woman’s heart is touched when a man exhibits signs of caring before and after marriage.

The fact that you have married, doesn’t mean you should lose yourself. After marriage, many spouses stop the caring they used to do when they were in relationship. In ministry, you have to care for the sheep. When Jesus Christ’s left the church for Peter to take over, it was all about caring for the sheep. Yet, many Ministers rather want to be cared by the sheep. They value the material gain or benefit they will receive from the sheep than the ministry of shepherding. Jesus Christ cares for his sheep so much that He is ever ready to bear their needs and wants.

He is ever ready to rest us from every burden of sin, iniquity, transgression and abomination. The care of our salvation is so important to Him that, He doesn’t want any mortal to perish. His caring extends to sinners. He rains for the righteous and shines for the wicked. He provides mortals even to the smallest of all animals and plants. He keeps and sustains us. He delivers and watch over us when we are asleep. Even in our weaknesses, His strength abounds for us. As our Heavenly Father cared for our salvation while we were His enemies, so we also have to love our enemies and care for them as well.

Lift up prayers for the heart of caring to love your enemies and to care for the salvation of the lost as Christ cared for you when you were also lost in the name of Jesus Christ.
