THREEFOLD CORD
David Abankwah
READ: Genesis 2:21-25

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a THREEFOLD CORD is not quickly broken.
-Ecclesiastes 4:12 | NKJV

Many believers will go to hell because of marriage. In our generation, the divorce rate of religious people is an overwhelming one. It is not obligatory to marry because the qualifications for eternal life, marriage is not part. But when you want to marry, you have to prepare yourself very well. Many marry for wrong reasons. Many marry because they see a certain lady or man as an opportunist. Because of money or certain privileges one can get, is why many marry certain people. Many marry just because they think they are becoming of age or expiring.

In this case, many women marry in their twenties because of the fear factor of infertility. Many married couples will bear with me that, they didn’t prepare well before they said ‘I do.’ Before marriage you have to be spiritually, psychologically, physically, financially, and materially prepared. Today many enter courtships thinking they have to study their partners before they marry them. You can never know someone fully. No one knows the kind of spirit people have except the Lord reveals it. That is why God must be the most integral personality before and after marriage.

God knows the husband or wife you should marry because it was Him who created all people. He knows the rightful flesh and rib that should join together. He is part of the threefold cord that makes relationship indomitable! A marriage founded on God is the marriage that can never break down. We often think God made a mistake by instituting marriage between Adam and Eve but there is no where the Bible recorded that Adam divorced. The crisis of Adam’s marriage was his fall. No marriage is without issues but if God is the foundation, you will never divorce.

Today many believers marry in March and divorce in May, because Satan is part of their threefold cord (husband+wife+Satan). We often think God is a witness of many believers’ marriage. Many select their own spouses without any divine will. Any relationship that is not centred on God is like a house built on sand which will definitely fall when situations hit it. Two laws govern threefold cord relationships: LOVE and SUBMISSION. It takes humility to execute love in every relationship you have in your life, ministry and Godliness.

Lift up prayers and invite God to take charge of every relationship you have so you can execute submission and love in every area of your life, ministry, and Godliness in the name of Jesus Christ.
