JEHOVAH JIREH

READ: Ephesians 3:20

And God is ABLE TO MAKE all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all SUFFICIENCY IN ALL THINGS, MAY HAVE AN ABUNDANCE FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.
-II Corinthians 9:8 | NKJV

God is the One who holds the final sway in the life of all. All things we own in life, Godliness and ministry were created by Him. If you have the Jehovah-Jireh kind of mindset, you will stay humble always. Many times, people become proud for what they have achieved because they have this mindset that their success was attained through their hardwork. Even the people they should have remembered and honoured, they easily forget them. One day I was staying with one of my Aunties and she made a comment that, even when I become successful, I will forget her.

Actually I didn’t have that intention but I understand her now from the perspective of what Jesus Christ said in Matthew 24:12 that, because lawlessless will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Because of this, many don’t want to help others anymore. Because of what many junior Pastors have done to their senior Pastors, they have lost interest in training new ones. We usually assume we are the ones who have the ability to make things happen but it is not so. In 2 Corinthians 9:8, we can see that, God is the One who is able to make all grace abound towards us.

It is this grace that yields sufficiency and abundance in our lives, ministry and Godliness and the works of men profit nothing. If we have this mindset, we will always remain humble. The identity of people is tested when God blesses them with money. Sometimes when you have money, arrogance becomes your portion but when you are broke, your humility comes. If you are unable to become faithful with little things such as your own income, how can you manage the entire wealth of the church? We have to believe in the divine provision of God, so we can be faithful to Him in all things.

Jehovah Jireh simply means: God our Provider. The choosing of all Christians is for the purpose of eternal life. If God provides you with all material needs, you can’t take them along with you after your death. Eternal life must be the sole desire of every believer that he should look up to God for its provision. That is why we ought to seek first after the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33) and all other things shall be added. Don’t also be a hypocrite, pretending as if you are seeking after the Kingdom when you have ‘these things’ at the back of your mind.

Lift up prayers for the Spirit of humility to fashion a template of an unending awareness in you that, everything you have in life and ministry or what you can do in Godliness, is by the help of God in the name of Jesus Christ.
