DISMAY

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not DISMAYED, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

It is not anyone that God has rapport with. One day I was having a conversation with my landlord and he told me, we are all God’s children because it is Him who created us all. I told him that we are not. This is because, a farmer cultivates crops but it is not all the crops that will be harvested. The good ones are harvested and brought home while the bad ones are left in the farm, gathered and burnt sometimes. So it is not all the crops that are needed by the farmer even though he planted them all. When I told him this, he was staring at me in dismay because that was not what he taught I would say or explain.
Dismay is: ¹to cause to lose courage or resolution (as because of alarm or fear); ²Upset, perturb; ³Sudden disappointment. There are three main types of fear: fear of God, fear of creations (evil spirits, humans, animals, plants, height etc), fear of the unknown. Fear of God is one of the Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2). If you are possessed by Him, you will not fear creations or the unknown. Those who have the fear of God have hope, faith, and love. Because of these three virtues, nothing causes him to lose courage or resolution especially in times of alarm, crises, tribulations, trials, and temptations. If you easily become dismayed, you can’t walk with God.
When you read Revelation 21:8, those who who are fearful (fear of the unknown and creations) cannot have eternal life. This is because that fear weakens your faith which should have made you engage in the works of salvation. Those who fear God pleases Him and those who pleases God will have eternal life. The fear of God leads to the feeling of disappointment or remorse for your sins. It is disappointment of your sins that also leads to repentance. Those who lack this Godly remorse, easily become disobedient, stiff-necked, and rebellious to the Word of God. If you fear God, you will lose confidence, courage or resolution in the things of this world.
Those who lose confidence in the world are those who don’t love the world or the things that are in it (1 John 2:15). Because of that, God is also closer to them. The protection of God is not for all people. It is for those who fear in Him and obey His commandments. Those who fear in God will never be disappointed in this world because God never fails. They will not be disappointed too hereafter because they have hope in eternal life because of the Spirit of God. Are you a child of God? Are you confident that when Jesus Christ comes right now, you will be saved? If not, give your life to Him, repent and work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Lift up prayers for deliverance from the demon of fear and ask for the presence of the Spirit of the fear of God in you, to lead and control you for the rest of your life in the name of Jesus Christ.
