HOLINESS IS POSSIBLE!
David Abankwah
READ: Hosea 11:9
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “HOLY, HOLY, HOLY, LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, Who was and is and is to come!”
-Revelation 4:8 | NKJV
There are many characters and attributes of God. God is Omnipresent (He is everywhere), Omniscient (all-knowing), Omnipotent (all-powerful), the Mighty One in Battle – He goes to war without weapons but He comes home victorious, the Balm of Gilead, the Ancient of Days, the I am that I am, the Lily of the Valleys, the Jehovah Jireh (the Lord Our Provider), the El-Shaddai (All Sovereign), Elohim (the Creator), Jehovah Rapha (the Lord Our Healer), Jehovah Nissi (the Lord our Banner), Jehovah Mekoddishkem (the Lord our Sanctifier), Jehovah Shalom (the Lord Our Peace), Jehovah Sabaoth (the Lord of Hosts) among many more.
One of the main characters of God is that He is holy. The primary meaning of holiness is separation. It comes from the ancient word that means ‘to cut’, or to ‘separate.’ The New Testament Greek for holy is ‘Hagios’ and Strong Exhaustive Concordance translates hagios into the English words ‘SACRED,’ ‘BLAMELESS,’ and ‘CONSECRATED.’ We find the word holy used 567 times in the Scriptures. That means this word is very important in the life of God and for those who seek to serve Him. God is not served in filth, sin, iniquity, abomination, transgression, and wickedness. The smaller gods that people worship even have their rules.
Even smaller gods have what they like and dislike, how much more the God of gods, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords? God is holy, meaning He is morally excellent, perfect, pure and have absolutely separated Himself from sin, iniquity, abomination, transgression and wickedness. Holiness is what makes God divinely and distinctively different from all others. If we want to serve God, we ought to separate ourselves from all manner of evil. It is a deliberate act. No one forces one to eat but we know that when one eats, one gets energy to go about his daily activities and prevent one from getting diseases.
So it is with holiness. No one should force you to live right. It is a self-will. You can hear the Word of God 24/7 but if you don’t repent, no one can force you to. We have our free will to accept Jesus Christ into our life to gain salvation and to live holy lives for eternal life. After that free will doesn’t count anymore because the will of God overrides and supersedes our free will -Romans 8:14. God entreats us to serve Him in holiness (Leviticus 19:1). He knows we can do it through His Spirit. If it is impossible, He wouldn’t have told us so. Holiness is the necessity for eternal life. Holiness is attainable. Holiness is possible!

Lift up prayers and commit your self-will onto God. Ask for His will to be done in every area of your life so you can live in utmost holiness in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
With God everything is possible. So it is with holiness.
