WORD OF HOPE
David Abankwah
READ: Colossians 1:5

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His WORD I DO HOPE.
-Psalms 130:5 | NKJV

Hope of a better life is why people work. Hope of a better future is why people save. Hope of a better knowledge is why people study. Hope of a better health treatment is why people go to the hospital. Hope of a better love life is why people marry. Hope of a better social life is why people live in peace and harmony with one another. Hope of a better shelter is why people build their own houses. Unfortunately, many people don’t have any hope for their souls at all. They live their lives on this earth as if there is nothing at stake. But there is much beyond this physical world than we know.

The Word of God contains that hope of a better life beyond this physical world. He promises of a better place not made with human hands. He promises of a better place where there is no death. He promises of a better place where there is no suffering. He promises of a better place where the roads are made of gold. He promises of a better place where one will get the privilege to see God’s face for the first time. We all know that one cannot see God’s face and live but the Word of God promises of a place where the saints will behold the beauty of God’s face without perishing. Isn’t this amazing?

Sometimes when I am writing these devotionals, I don’t know whether those who read them get what God wants them to know or they are just reading for reading sake? It is because of the hope that God wants us to have concerning His Word that I had to spend time writing to you. If you even have hope in perishable things that exist today and tomorrow they are no more, please have hope in the Lord God. Have faith in God that He truly exists. Have hope in Him that one day He will come the second time to judge this world. Have hope in Him that He has prepared a place called New Jerusalem for saints. The promises in God’s Word are true.

The Word promised us the coming of the Messiah. He came and now He is at the right hand side of the Father in heaven. God promised us the Holy Spirit in His Word. Now, He is here with us. God has promised us many Biblical prophecies. Majority has been fulfilled. God does not lie. He is a God of truth. His Word is Yes and Amen. Surely, let us have hope for a better life hereafter, an eternal life in New Jerusalem and live our lives in sanctification, righteousness, and holiness. There is a time coming that if you don’t stop sinning, the logical conclusion of your life will be in the lake of fire where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for hope in the Lord whenever your faith seems unfailing especially during moments of crises so you can always stand the test of time and finish the race of eternal life in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
The Word of God is the pillar of all hopes in life, Godliness, and ministry.
