THE MYSTERY OF RAINFALL
David Abankwah
READ: Job 36:26-33

He who BUILDS HIS LAYERS in the sky, and has FOUNDED HIS STRATA IN THE EARTH; Who calls for the WATERS OF THE SEA, and POURS THEM OUT ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH – The Lord is His name.
-Amos 9:6 | NKJV

We have been told by scientists that vapour is what condenses and fall back as rain. How many industries were present at the time of Noah that gave rise to such a vapor to fall back as rain for 40 days and nights? How many mountains were able to give such an amount of vapour to fall for forty days and nights? How many vapour of cigarettes can smokers give us for rain to fall for us? When Elisha prayed that it should not rain for three years and some months, it was his prayer to God again, that made rain fell. The God who rained in the time of Noah, is still the God who rains and shines today (Genesis 7:4). God is the One who visits the earth, waters it for food growth (Psalms 65:9-10).

God enriches the landscape and enhances niches with rain (Psalms 65:10,12). Sometimes He rains too to judge the world (Job 36:31). It is the sea that God uses to rain. You might ask, how can God use the sea to rain? When Elisha prayed to God for rain, he told his servant to go to the sea to see what was happening. His servant reported that, he saw a cloud like a man’s hand coming out of the sea (1 Kings 18:44). Then Elisha knew that, the Lord was about to rain. God has set His rain reservoirs or layers in the sky that convert the salt water into saltless water (Amos 9:6). If you look at the far end of the sea, you will notice that the sky is bent into it.

This is because God has created a path into the sea He taps His rain from (Amos 9:6). God did that for a reason because He has linked the sea to the reservoirs in the sky that He draws the sea into them to fall them back as rain (Amos 9:6). But because He doesn’t want people to see what is going on, He brings thick clouds to cover the sky and He gives charge to the wind to blow to signal us that He is about to rain so we should put our things in the right order. So when the wind blows and the thick darkness is in place, He draws some of the sea into the reservoirs, convert them into saltless water and make them ready to fall as rain.

As some rain begins to fall, you will see that the axe of God which is also called lightning, begins to light up the world (Psalms 77:18) and thunder voices out in the skies because when the waters see God at work, they tremble and they then become afraid (Psalms 77:16). Thunder also covers the hand of God and by His command, it strikes (Job 36:32). Thunder can voice out and you will feel like Jesus Christ is coming the second time. When all these wonders of rainfall are going on in the sky, God wants us to know that He exists. His wondrous works are there for our appreciation so we should fear and serve Him well with our whole heart.
