PARTNER AFTER YOUR KIND
David Abankwah
READ: Genesis 1:11, 21, 26
All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
-I Corinthians 15:39 | NKJV
There are many misconceptions about marriage. Some say God chose Eve for Adam, brought about sin so in that case, they are not willing to yield under the will of God to be done in their lives. Some even say that, the person God will choose for them will not be beautiful or handsome, rich or wealthy or the choice they would prefer. In that case, they often choose anyone who suits their choice or taste. Another misconception is that, many Christians have this faith that, if they are able to marry an unbeliever, they will be able to change the person after marriage. Beloved, you are not the Holy Spirit to change anyone. No person can change the other.
Marriage is all about your kind. Your kind doesn’t mean if you are a man you should marry another man because he is your kind. No! Your kind doesn’t also mean that, if you are a woman, you should marry another woman. Marrying your kind is not something that is strange. It was one major foundation that marriage was built on in the Garden of Eden by God. Because God chooses people after our kind, He demonstrated that vividly in Eden. He took part of the body of Adam and made Eve with it. The kind lies in two things: FLESH AND RIB. It is this kind that comes together to form one flesh to make a fruitful marriage.
This means that, if the man is a Pastor, the wife should also be in Ministry because she is part of you. God cannot choose someone for you who is not part of you or who was not taken out of you or who is not doing what you are also doing. Because the person is your kind, he or she has the same mind and heart as you. The heart is what the man is going to use to love you and the mind is what the woman is going to use to understand that, you are the head and she has to submit to you. The person can sometimes function in the same profession or career as you. You may be a doctor and your partner might be a nurse whom you might not respect.
Because many are blinded by lust, when God is speaking to them about their marriages, they don’t hear. It is very important to note that, as a Christian, your kind of partner is likely to be another Christian, otherwise there will be issues in your marriage if you have contrasting religions or beliefs. That is why it is highly possible to have your partner in the same church unless exceptions are divinely orchestrated. The Israelites were entreated not to marry partners who were not after their own kind (Deuteronomy 23:3). What are you doing now as a man? What is your vision? Is the helper you are looking for your kind to help you with that vision?
•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for the patience to wait on God and the heart of humility to accept His will after your kind concerning your marriage as a single in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
Your true marriage partner will not be divinely given, outside the confinement of your kind.
