NO SOWING, NO REAPING
David Abankwah
READ: 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.
-John 12:24 | NKJV

To reap is to gather, to obtain, to receive as a reward or harvest, or as the fruit of one’s labour works, in a good or bad sense. In Christianity, NSNP, means no sowing, no reaping or NCNC which means no contribution, no chop. Why? This is because the Bible says that, give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38). We should also note that, the person who sows few seeds will have few harvest and the one who sows many seeds will have a bountiful harvest. That’s why rich people always become richer and poor people become poorer.

The one who has many, more will be given to the person and he will have abundance, but the one who has none, the little that the person has will be taken away from him and given to the one who has more (Matthew 13:12; 25:29). Money bestowed in charity, may to the carnal mind, seen as thrown away, but when given from proper Biblical principle, it is a seed sown from which a valuable increase may be expected. Works of charity like other good works should be done with a good thought and not given as a motive of praise or through an act of hypocrisy. Help should be given freely be it more or less and not grudgingly but cheerfully.

Sin, transgression, iniquity, and abomination through sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies and things like these are seeds that when sown, only reap corruption or death. Sanctification, righteousness, and holiness through love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control also yield eternal life. While some scatter and yet increase, others withhold more and yet, still suffer poverty because life does not consist in the abundance of things one has (Luke 12:15).

Can a man lose by doing the things that please God? Well, the one who lose his life will save it, but the one who saves his life, will surely lose it. God is more concerned with losing, sacrificing, suffering, and dying for something greater than that. Eternal life is more precious a harvest to invest one’s fortunes in. God is the One who is able to make all grace abound towards us, so we can have a large increase of spiritual blessings and physical possessions also called ‘these things.’ When we sow in the things of God, He will not only give us the things that are enough for us but will extend towards the people whom we are in relationships with. Abraham sowed faith and his descendants are still reaping the benefit.

Lift up prayers for the patience of waiting for the harvest of the spiritual and physical blessings concerning the things you have sown in life, Godliness, and ministry in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
In the world, abundance is in saving. In Christianity, abundance is in losing.
