When you see technological devices, it is wisdom and understanding in play. The Bible makes us to understand in the Book of Daniel 12:4, that knowledge shall increase. Witty inventions also called technology, is the application of knowledge also called wisdom. The depth of how the technological device was built or how sophisticated it is, depends on what is called understanding. We are being told that, technology is what makes things easier and faster. But as believers, have we thought about the evil implications of what technology can bring to our faith or flow with the world all in the name of high standard of living?
I do understand that technology has been a tremendous help to Christianity. Without technology, copies of the Bible wouldn’t have been printed for all of us to get hold of it because at first, the scroll was just in to chambers of the temple. No one was having a copy to read for him or herself and was only read to one’s hearing when it was church meeting. Now, because of technology, everyone has got a chance to have his or her own Bible. Because of technology, we have known the longest verse and chapter, the shortest verse and chapter, the words of Jesus Christ in red ink, and concordances, lexicons, or referencing have been made easier.
Technology has also made evangelism also easier. Without technology, mass gatherings of crusade, tele-evangelism, social media evangelism, and other church services and what have you, wouldn’t have been made possible. Technology has also made other aspects of life like the health, business, financial, and social interaction also easier and faster. However, technology also has numerous demerits that believers are failing to take note of. Today, technology has filled the minds of believers with junk instead of the Word of God dwelling in us richly. Someone can recite a TV commercial verbatim but cannot quote John 3:16.
Phones made made many believers lies. He is at place A, but when someone calls him, he will say he is at place B. At the click of a button, you can watch pornographic materials with ease. At the click of a button, someone can even have virtual sexual intercourse with someone also called phone sex. Deviant behaviours, breaching of security, drug addiction, thefts, deaths, social vices, teenage pregnancies, many but to mention few, have become alarming all because of technology. The way Satan is using technology to sweep many into hell is more than the positive benefits we are deriving from it. Technology is deceiving many people more than false Prophets or antichrists.

Lift up prayers for vigilance and circumspection concerning the negative implications of technology so you will not fall into its deceit and consequent damnation in the name of Jesus Christ.
