YET, NOT, I
David Abankwah
READ: Matthew 6:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, YET NOT I, but the grace of God which was with me.
-I Corinthians 15:10 | NKJV

It is high time people realised that self will doesn’t count in the nation of Christianity. The same self-will, that unbelievers have and live their lives anyhow with is the same self will that a lot of believers are living their lives with even as they serve God. It is self-will that makes you want to change the Bible to suit your sinful lifestyle instead of letting the Word of God change your lifestyle. Today a lot of believers are so stiff-necked to the point that, when you tell them the Truth of God’s Word they say you are judging them. Some even think Christianity is like a rope that has entangled them from having their freedom of operating like the worldly people are living in.

No wonder some say when the world is changing, you should also change to suit the world. You can’t serve God and expect to live your life anyhow. When you sin, you become a slave of Satan, but when you leave your life into the hands of Jesus Christ, He sets you free from that slavery of sin. That liberty doesn’t mean you should behave anyhow. The kind of self-will mindset you once had must be changed. That mindset of ‘my will’ should be changed into ‘the will of God.’ Otherwise you can never become a Christian. We should understand that it was Lucifer who first started with self-will in heaven. In Isaiah 14:13-14, we saw him saying the five ‘I wills.’

1. ‘I will ascend into heaven, 2. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; 3. I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 4. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, 5. I will be like the Most High.’ These were the five I wills of Satan. When you are a sinner, that’s the same lifestyle you also live. You don’t care about the will of God. You don’t care about the promotion of God’s kingdom. You don’t want the Word of God to control you. Anytime you are preached to, you think the Preacher is judging you. If you don’t want God to control your life for you, Satan will rather control it for you and it will not end you well.

If we could lead our own lives, then the death of Jesus Christ would not have been beneficial because we already had a Master called Satan. When you believe in Jesus Christ, He becomes your Master. He is the One who has to control you. His will becomes your will. His laws become yours. There is nothing like I think we should do it like this, Jesus. I think this and I think that, doesn’t hold in Christianity. It is not about you any more but about Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ came, it was not about His will that He lived with, but the will of God the Father who sent Him. Likewise, the will of Christ is what must control us. Then, we can finally say ‘YET, NOT US, BUT CHRIST WHO CONTROLS US.’

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for humility to subject your will under the will of Jesus Christ for His dominion, power, and authority to rule your soul for absolute liberty of holiness in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
It is a declaration of war anytime you don’t subject yourself under the will of God.
