THE HEART FIXER
David Abankwah
READ: Acts 16:14
The KING’S HEART IS IN THE HAND OF THE LORD, like the rivers of water; HE TURNS IT WHEREVER HE WISHES.
-Proverbs 21:1 | NKJV
We have one and only true God and His name is Jesus Christ. Mysteriously our God holds the hearts of all men and can turn them to any direction He wants. He had given us glimpses of what He can do in the Bible for our referencing. When Jesus Christ called Moses to rescue His people from Egypt, he had no idea of the turn of events the king would be in. Sometimes Jesus Christ had to harden the heart of Pharaoh so he would not let them go. He again softened his heart after the 10th plague and that was when he had to permit them to go. He later hardened his heart again to pursue the Israelites not knowing they were about to be destroyed.
This tells us that, many people who have hardened their hearts towards the Gospel had been reserved for destruction. Without the heart fixer – Jesus Christ who is our Lord and God, salvation will be far fetched. When man couldn’t win the temptation that Satan brought to him in the Garden of Eden, sin entered men through the heart. Jesus Christ saw that the intents of the thoughts of men’s heart was only evil continually (Genesis 6:5). For out of the hearts of men after that, came all kinds of sins (Matthew 15:19) and these things defiled men making them deviate from what Jesus Christ had already purposed for men during creation.
Jesus Christ – our God saw that He had to do something about the corrupted hearts of men. He planned of fixing men’s heart. He demanded sacrifice of animals blood for their atonement but that couldn’t even blot away their sins but only covered it, let alone fixing their hearts. He brought laws through Moses, yet that was not enough to fix their hearts. This is because, for all the inhabitants of the earth who tried to fix their own hearts from sin couldn’t and fell short of the glory of Jesus Christ. Then our Lord and God Jesus Christ thought of stepping in the affairs of men because the blood of God is precious and powerful than the blood of mortals.
He came and fixed the hearts of men with His blood and then went to Hades to restore the authority of men over the adversary. Now the one who believes and confesses our Lord and God, whose name is Jesus Christ as his Lord and Master will have his heart fixed and out of his heart will not flow sin anymore but the rivers of the living water (John 7:38). Out of the person’s heart will flow good treasures of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We shouldn’t live our lives anyhow because there is an end to everyone’s life. Will you die with an unfixed heart or a fixed one?
•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers and commit your heart to Jesus Christ to have your heart fixed with His blood so you can flow in the acts of righteousness, holiness, and sanctification in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
In the spiritual mechanical shop of the soul, it is only the blood of Jesus Christ that can fix men’s heart.
