Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.
-John 14:6 | NKJV

We are all aware that there is no one in history who had come from heaven to pay the sins of the world with His blood. There are many smaller gods we have around but none has died to save us from our sins. It was in the Garden of Eden that man begun to have a cordial relationship with his Maker. Things were cozy like most wives behave when their husbands are not broke. God is not the Author of evil. He gave man His law not to eat from the forbidden fruit. It was man’s own decision that evil came and the relationship between God and men broke down. It was God’s word that, when man eats from the forbidden fruit, he would die. Indeed, man first died spiritually, before physically.

Spiritual death is when the soul is in enmity against God or when the soul is separated from God temporary. Those who still blame Adam and Eve for letting sin and evil enter this world are still repeating the same mistake they did, even worse than that. Adam and Eve only committed one sin their entire life. But how many sins have you committed from the time of your birth till now? If many people were Adam and Eve at that time, maybe they would not have only plucked two fruits, but uprooted the whole tree and would have even done tree planting of good and evil. No wonder adulterous men got their inspiration of farms (wives) and backyard gardens (side-chicks) from.

From the time man sinned, there was like a gulf of fixed between man and God. The underworld before the first coming of Jesus Christ gave us glimpses of the spiritual separation. Everyone who died before the first coming of Jesus Christ was not in Paradise but kept in Hades. Those who were righteous somehow were kept at one place or called Abraham’s bosom and those who were sinners were also kept afar off. It was not only those who were alive who needed Jesus Christ to come and die for them but the righteous ones who were in Hades. No wonder Jesus Christ had to do a three-day crusade there (Matthew 12:40; 1 Peter 4:6).

When Jesus Christ came the first time, all He had to do was to bridge that loophole or gulf of fixed that sin had created so God and man would be closer again as it was in the Garden of Eden. Bridge building would not have been possible without the Word of reconciliation or the Gospel. Will the people have faith without hearing and hearing by the Word of God? No! That’s why Jesus Christ had to preach and teach. The bridge has been built with the blood of Jesus Christ and anyone who wants to fellowship with God can boldly walk on the bridge and cross to the other side that God is earnestly looking up to the horizon to find His prodigal children coming home.

Lift up prayers for the Light and Truth of God’s Word to direct and guide you on the bridge of Jesus Christ so you can reach the destination of eternal life safely in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
Like a concrete bridge, Jesus Christ built the bridge of salvation with His body as aggregates and cementing material, and blood as water.
