SPIRITUAL WEAPONS

For the WEAPONS of our warfare are NOT CARNAL but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
-II Corinthians 10:4 | NKJV

A nation with most weapons is considered as a very powerful country. The less powerful countries normally form alliances with these nations so they can be fought for. If you can’t beat them, just join them. Unfortunately, the devil and his cohorts know the spiritual weapons a Christian has, yet, they will still come fighting because they know there are believers who are unaware of their spiritual arsenal. Even if the evil and his cohorts are defeated, they will still come repeatedly. Until you are dead, they will never cease waging war against your life, ministry, and Godliness. Therefore we don’t have to be ignorant of our weapons.

Christianity is a kingdom of light and as Jesus Christ prophesied in Matthew 24:7 that kingdom will rise against kingdom, He didn’t only mean physical kingdoms or nations. He knew the spiritual warfare that is always between the Christian and the kingdom of darkness. We should also note that, Paul used the term ‘weapons’ in 2 Corinthians 10:4 signifying a plural noun. This means that, we have numerous weapons at our disposal. This is because, when many think of spiritual weapons, they think that the Word of God being the Sword of the Spirit is the Only weapon at our disposal. No proper soldier goes to war with only one weapon, but arsenal.

To win diverse wars, you need to have numerous weapons at your disposal. The first spiritual weapon is the Word of God. It is the Sword of the Spirit. Jesus Christ used this weapon to defeat the devil in the wilderness when he came to tempt Him. The second defensive spiritual weapon is righteousness/holiness. A hedge of protection was around Job because of his righteousness. Satan was always defeated when he came around him. The third spiritual weapon is the Word of our testimony. The angels overcame the devil and his cohorts with the Word of their testimony. The fourth spiritual weapon is the name: JESUS CHRIST. How powerful this name is!

The fifth spiritual weapon is the blood of Jesus Christ. The angels overcame the devil not only with the Word of their testimony but by the blood of Jesus Christ. The sixth spiritual weapon is worship. The walls of Jericho did not fall by excavators but by worship. The seventh spiritual weapon is prayer. We are entreated to pray so we don’t fall into temptations. Prayer is both defensive and offensive spiritual weapon. But prayer without the Word is just like a train in the midst of the sea. Many think that they can pray anyhow and defeat the enemy. Prayer is mandatory and strategic! If there is someone to pray, then there is always a God who will listen.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for the strength not to faint or be defeated in your spiritual warfare against the devil and his cohorts but to fight on and win always in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
Among all the spiritual arsenal, holiness is the greatest weapon.
