DISPENSATION OF IGNORANCE
David Abankwah
READ: Acts 17:30

MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me…..
-Hosea 4:6 | NKJV

Knowledge is power they say, but to me, it is a two-sided coin. You can have knowledge and use it for something bad. You can have knowledge and decide not to use it at all. You can also have knowledge and use it for something good. Having knowledge concerning things is not what matters most but its application. Without the application of the knowledge you have which is also called wisdom, knowledge is just futile. There are so many people who have been to school to acquire a certain knowledge but they are unable to apply that in practical life for the benefit of the society. School impacts knowledge and not wisdom. True wisdom comes from God.

There are so many people who have been to school to acquire knowledge but they have become fools. Because they think they have acquired knowledge, they deem themselves as wise people but they are not. That’s what Paul said in Romans 1:22 that, professing to be wise, they became fools. How can you be a learned person and say there is no God? How can you be a learned person and say the world was created by big bang? How can you be a learned person and say you are self-made? Was limousine created by itself? Was world trade centre created by itself? How can you be a learned person and still manage to be a homosexual?

With all the knowledge you have as an academician, I thought that will lead you to God the more. But now, that is not the case. Many academicians have lost it. The more they know, the more they push God aside. How can you be a knowledgeable person and still manage to be ignorant concerning the things of God? That is so strange but it is so true. We often blame Adam and Eve for letting sin into this world but in our times we are doing worse than that. The dispensation of Adam and Eve, was the dispensation of ignorance. They knew little about God. They were ignorant of who Satan was. They were ignorant of Satan’s devices or wiles.

There was nothing like a Bible for Adam and Eve. What they knew was that they shouldn’t eat from the forbidden tree. They were even ignorant about death and its implications. If Adam and Eve knew who Satan was, his devices, and implications of death, they might not have eaten the forbidden fruit. Indeed, as the Bible says that, because of lack of knowledge, the people of God perish, Adam and Eve fell because of ignorance. With the knowledge a wise person has, he will seek refuge from an imminent danger but fools will face it and be destroyed. After Adam and Eve knew the knowledge of good and evil, they never sinned again.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for diligence to read the Bible, retentive memory to be abreast of the knowledge of God’s Word and strength to be the doer in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
If your knowledge will make or unmake you, it is dependent on your level of wisdom.
