JESUS CHRIST
(THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD)
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 7
For GOD so loved the world that He gave His ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
-John 3:16 | NKJV
We often ask ourselves these questions that if Jesus Christ is God then why did He have to be sent by someone? If Jesus is God, then why did Jesus Christ come instead of God? If Jesus Christ is God then why wasn’t He named as God but rather Jesus Christ? If Jesus Christ is God then why was He given birth to or why did He become a man? If Jesus Christ is God then why was He always referring to the Father and not Himself when He had to? If Jesus Christ is God then why did He become hungry at times, why did He feel pain and why did He had to hide sometimes from the people who wanted to hurt or kill Him before His time?
Physically, a child can be born when the sperm of the Father fertilises with the ovum of the mother. In Isaiah 9:6, God was prophesied that He would be manifested in flesh. The manifestation of Him into the flesh was made possible through His Word (the seed) that fell into good soil of Mary’s virgin womb -Matthew 13:8 and the fertilisation was made possible by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit upon Mary. Because words are spirit (John 6:63), Mary had to accept the seed of the Word of God that Angel Gabriel was presenting to her for the process of divine manifestation of Spirit into flesh (Son of God) to begin. This reminds us of Genesis 1:2-3.
For the light of the world to come in the beginning of creation, it was the same approach of the Word and the Spirit combining to produce Him and that was a reflection in Luke 1:35. After the God in flesh (Son of God) was born, He was called Jesus Christ. That was the name He kept from Jacob when He wrestled with Him (Genesis 32:29) but has revealed to us now. The manifestation of God in flesh is likened to the four living creatures. The face of the man in the four living creatures is a representative of God who manifested Himself in the form of man but had all the three faces of ox, eagle, and lion in Him as Trinity (Revelation 4:7).
The fact that God became hungry, felt pain, hid Himself, and all that, proves that He is a God who is very humble. He said we should learn one thing from Him and that is humility in heart. That was what He proved by going through the five senses of humans. He knew all things, He is all powerful and He was everywhere, but it was because of humility sake that was why He had to go through losing, sacrificing, suffering, and dying (Philippians 2:6-8). The Son of God who came to take the scroll from the One on the throne in Revelation 5:6-7 shows that He was the God on the throne who came to stay with men in the flesh and was now there to take His rightful place.

Quote
If God could not bypass His Word and His Spirit to become Son of man, a mortal cannot bypass the Word and the Holy Spirit to become Son of God.
