JESUS CHRIST
(THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD)
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 9

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up in glory.
-I Timothy 3:16 | NKJV

There are many controversies surrounding God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. There is a controversy that the blood of one person cannot save the world. There is a controversy that God the Father is God by Himself; Jesus Christ another God by Himself, and the Holy Spirit as another God by Himself. There is a controversy that says that God sent His Son to save us but He was not the One who manifested Himself into flesh. There is a controversy that refutes the mediation of man and Himself (Jesus Christ) and that, Mary can be the Mediator between Jesus Christ and a Petitioner who is offering the prayers.

Many have propounded many theories to explain the Trinity and all that, but 1 Timothy 3:16 gives a brief explanation. The text begins by refuting all controversies that go against what Apostle Paul was about to say about the Trinity. And it went on to say that, the God we knew in Genesis 1:1 who created heaven and earth, who filled them with all goodies, who once visited Adam and Eve in the cool of the day and cursed them when they disobeyed Him; who accepted Abel’s offering and evangelised Cain; who chose Noah the first Evangelist and charged him to win souls for the imminent danger of flood that would soon hit the world.

It is this same God whose name is Jesus Christ who was the One that chose Abraham, the first Prophet and father of faith and revealed to him the imminent danger of Sodom and Gomorrah; who chose Moses the first Teacher and led the Israelites out of Egypt; who walked with the Judges (temporally Military leaders) and saved Israelites when it mattered; who chose the Major Prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and the minor Prophets such as Obadiah, Nahum, Hosea, Malachi, Habakkuk, Amos and the rest and walked with them by charging them to prophesy about their soon coming King of salvation who would manifest Himself into the flesh.

This God of the Old Testament is the One who manifested Himself into the flesh during the time of virgin Mary when she accepted Angel Gabriel’s Annunciation. His name is Jesus Christ. It is this same God who being a Son of man lived all His life without sin, but was still condemned physically for sin and crucified but spiritually, He was justified. When He finished the work of nailing sin on the cross, He was received up in glory during His ascension and revealed Himself to His angels. After a while, this same God whose name is Jesus Christ was preached among the Gentiles as the Gospel for their witness and He was believed on in the world by many.
