JESUS CHRIST
(THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD)
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 10

One major part of the Bible that confuses many believers about Jesus Christ not being God and unbelievers for doubting the Divinity of Jesus Christ is when they read that Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand side of God. Logically, one will think that there are two seats in heaven; where one God who is called the Father is seated on His throne and another throne is seated beside Him which is the throne of Jesus Christ and another throne beside Him on the left hand side which is seated on by the Holy Spirit. When Apostle John saw heaven opened, he didn’t see three thrones of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He only saw one throne in heaven and not three.

Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, A THRONE set in heaven, and One sat on THE THRONE. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald -Revelation 4:2‭-‬3 | NKJV.
This confirms Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29 that the Lord our God is One. He is King of Kings not KINGS of Kings and He is the LORD of Lords and Lords of Lords. The fact that Jesus Christ has manifested Himself to us into three main personalities doesn’t mean He is three. Then what does the Bible mean by saying Jesus Christ – the Word is seated on the right hand side of God?

After Apostle John saw One and Only God (Jesus Christ) seated on the throne and none beside Him, he saw that there was a certain book in His right hand – Revelation 5:1. That is His Word. In John 1:1 we saw that the Word of God is Jesus Christ (God) and Jesus Christ is the Word (God). So if literally Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father, the Word in the hand of God is a symbol of Jesus Christ (Revelation 5:7). To confirm this, the lamb – Son of man/ Son of God (God manifested in flesh) came to take the scroll signifying that He was the same God who was manifested into the lamb and took the away the sins of men as Apostle John saw in Revelation 5:9.

To explain Jesus Christ being the same as God was the reason the lamb took the scroll from the One seated on the throne. The seatless lamb in the midst of the throne and the seatless Spirit of God before the throne are all pointing to the One and Only God who is Jesus Christ. Furthermore, to say someone is your right-hand man, means someone you chiefly depend on. This means that God chiefly depends on His Word for everything (John 1:3). This is because the right hand of God (the Word) saves and the left hand of God (the Holy Spirit) give gifts. Jesus Christ likened Christianity to wedding, likewise, the Word of God is God’s best man (right-hand man).

The best man of God is His right hand because it is that part of Him that saves.
