(THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE GOD)

For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the LIVING GOD, who is the SAVIOR OF ALL MEN, especially of those who believe.

When Paul was writing the epistle to Timothy, he was aware that it was not everyone who would believe that Jesus Christ is the One and Only True God. That was why he wrote in 1 Timothy 4:10 that: ESPECIALLY OF THOSE WHO BELIEVE. If the Bible can be crushed or mashed into the only food that one can eat, there will still be people who will reject it and die. Even if they eat it, they will still manage to vomit it. The people who are part of the elects of God will readily accept the mystery of Jesus Christ as the One and Only True God and the sect of people who can never accept this mystery are those who are called sons of perdition.
Judas Iscariot was one of the disciples of Jesus Christ but he was a son of perdition. You can be going to church like Judas Iscariot was following Jesus Christ everywhere He went. You may hold a position in the church like Judas Iscariot who was the Financial Minister of Jesus Christ’s ministry. You may even do the work of God like Judas Iscariot who preached and through his ministration, Satan fell from the sky. But if you can’t believe that God is One and not three and that, the name of this One and Only True God is Jesus Christ, then you are one of the sons or daughters of perdition. True faith is seeing Jesus Christ as God.
Apostle Paul stressed on certain key things in 1 Timothy 4:10. He was labouring and suffering reproach for the Living God who is also the Saviour of all men. If this Living God whom we all knew in the Old Testament as the God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, and God of Israel, became the Saviour of all men, then what is the name of this God who came to save us? Is it not Jesus Christ of Nazareth? Why do many people especially church members accept that God is the God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob and God of Israel, but fail to believe that this same Living God and Saviour is Jesus Christ?
If the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Israel was not called those names, but rather one name which is Jesus Christ when this same God came to live among us for the purpose of salvation, then we shouldn’t expect another Heavenly God who would come again to save us. What is so funny is that, there are many people who are still waiting for the coming of the Messiah. If it were you, would you have come again? We know God to be the God of love, mercy, grace, goodness, faithfulness, but this same God was the One who came to save us from our sins. Also, because we can’t see God and live, that was why He came as a man whose name became Jesus Christ.

Lift up prayers for the strength to labour in Godliness and ministry and to suffer for the reproach of the works of your salvation and that of others in the name of Jesus Christ.
