There have been so many arguments surrounding whether God is three or one. In fact, upon much write ups on this topic, there have still being doubts circulating in the heads of many who read this devotional. Faith is something I can’t force it on anyone. It is a personal decision which goes in line with God’s perfect will. Our free will goes with the will of God like a key and lock. If only you are one of the elects of God, accepting the truth that Jesus Christ is the Only God of the Bible will not be a difficult thing for you to do. For you to know you are a son of perdition (destined for eternal damnation), you can never accept this mystery no matter how hard you try.
In Revelation 22:13, Jesus Christ declared that He is the Alpha. Alpha is the first letter of the Greek alphabet or in other words, the letter ‘A.’ This means that He is the first name to emerge in the Bible (thus God in Genesis 1:1 as the Creator – Jehovah Elohim). From eternity, only His name Jesus Christ existed in eternity. This means that He was the Word that existed before the beginning in John 1:1. In Revelation 19:13, we saw that the name of God is the Word and this Word that became flesh was called JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD -Revelation 19:13 | NKJV.
Jesus Christ also proclaimed that He is the beginning thus He was the God of the beginning who created all things. Thus He is the same God in Genesis 1:1 who revealed Himself to the Israelites on Mount Sinai and the same God who became flesh whose name was called JESUS CHRIST. Even if the four living creatures called Elijah, Noah, Abraham, and Moses and the twenty-four elders (half of them being the twelve tribes of Israel and the other half being the twelve Apostles with Paul being inclusive) have come and lived on the face of the earth, why should it surprise you that God became flesh and lived among us as man?
Jesus Christ also proclaimed that He is the Omega thus the 24th and the last letter of the Greek Alphabet. He is the second Adam or the last man who came to put an end to death once and for all. That’s why He is the Finisher of our faith. When we embrace His love, He puts an end to death, making us pass from death to life. Jesus Christ also proclaimed that He is the First and the Last, meaning there is no God who existed before Him and there is no God who is after Him. He is the One and Only True God who was there yesterday (in the beginning), today (as the Messiah and the Holy Spirit) and forever in New Jerusalem as our Only God.
