WEARY SOUL
David Abankwah
READ: Matthew 11:28

For I have satiated the WEARY SOUL, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.”
-Jeremiah 31:25 | NKJV

Weariness comes as a result of sin. Anytime sin enters into your life, you become weak towards spiritual things and energetic towards carnal things. Someone who once had time for his soul through Bible reading, studies, meditation, fasting, church activities, evangelism, and righteous living, now sees it as a burden to even work out his salvation. Because of weariness of the soul, you begin to see that going to church every week is not part of your salvation. Because of the weariness of the soul, you think you are doing the Pastor a favour for going to church on certain days that you feel okay to attend.

Because of weariness of the soul, you begin to do overtime at work so you can miss church activities. When it comes to carnal things, you have the strength to work it out but when it comes to the things that the soul will benefit from, you become weary. Because of the weariness of the soul, you begin to sleep whenever you start reading the Bible but when it comes to watching movies for hours, you don’t even slumber. Please check it out, your soul is weak. These are warning signs that the soul is weak and when the soul becomes weak, it will die because of hunger. The Word of God is the food for the soul. Don’t become weary of listening to anointed messages.

Instead of conversing or chatting with people who always bring carnal topics for discussion which will not make your soul stronger, quit such associations. When you were in your mother’s womb, you were there alone. Don’t let anyone make you lose your salvation. There will be a time you will die and face your judgment alone. Don’t let any foolish sin partner (boyfriend or girlfriend) fornicate with you and cause your soul to become weary. You can die before the person and maybe he or she can repent. If God reveals to you what your soul has become in your dreams, you will marvel. Some souls have become ‘kwashiorkor.’

Some souls have become very ‘lean,’ ‘blind,’ ‘lame,’ ‘deaf,’ ‘naked.’ Don’t waste time on the body which profits nothing and hurt the soul. The day you will die, then will you realise the importance of serving Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is giving you countless opportunities of giving your soul rest through His Word (Matthew 11:28). If you don’t know Jesus Christ no matter what your religion or how sinful you are, please confess your sins and give your life to Jesus Christ now because it is Him alone who can satiate your weary soul. If you are already a believer, don’t become weary of doing what is right even when no one is watching. God is the One who sees all things.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers and confess whatever sin that easily beset you making your soul always weary onto Jesus Christ so He can give you rest from that labour of sin in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
Sin lurks in the shadows, anytime a believer’s soul becomes weak towards the things of God.
