BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 9
“Also take for yourself WHEAT, BARLEY, BEANS, LENTILS, MILLET, and SPELT; put them into one vessel, and make bread of them for yourself. During the number of days that you lie on your side, three hundred and ninety days, you shall eat it.
-Ezekiel 4:9 | NKJV
The Bible has its own nutritional formula or balanced diet. If you read Ezekiel 4:9-13, it contains how one should go about one’s diet. It was because of balanced diet, that God made all kinds of fruits, vegetables, ingredients, vitamins, minerals, fibers, carbohydrates, fats and oils, water, and what have you. Even concerning meat and fish, there are varieties. When meals are balanced, we reap its maximum nutrients. The body parts have varieties of systems, organs, tissues, and cells. Each demands a variety of nutrients for maximized productivity. Sometimes as church members, we don’t need to worry Pastors for certain prayers of healing.
I know the false Ministers who get their business running because of the ailments of their church members, will not like this kingdom teaching. The kingdom of God is not about hoarding or seeking glory for ourselves as Ministers but to connect to the One and Only King and Lord who rules us all, whose name is Jesus Christ. It is what He wants that we should preach and teach our domain as kings and priests. Eating right is part of God’s commandment. If you disobey it and you die before your time without finishing the works of your salvation, you will die and meet Him in judgement and you will be questioned about the stewardship of your body.
God listed certain organic foods such as wheat, barley, beans, lentils, millet and spelt. These organic foods have tremendous health benefits. God listed whole grains comprising of barley, millet and wheat and spelt because He knew someday there would be refined grains made by men who will have the bran removed preventing us from enjoying the full benefits of His creation and health of our bodies. Whole grains contain three layers of kernels: 1. Bran (containing fiber, minerals, and antioxidants) 2. Endosperm (containing carbohydrates for maximised energy) 3. Germ (containing vitamins, protein and plant compounds). Whole grains are high in nutrients and fiber.
Whole grains lower risk of heart disease, stroke, obesity, type 2 diabetes. Whole grains support healthy digestion. Whole grains reduce chronic inflammation. Whole grains may reduce your risk of cancer. Beans come from the family Fabaceae, having tremendous nutrients of folate and protein which improves gut health, preventing fatty liver, diabetes and glucose metabolism, reduced risk of cancer, heart health, enriched in antioxidants that fight against neutralize free radicals that bring about diseases. Lentils lower blood pressure, support the formation of red blood cells, folate for formation of babies for pregnant women and iron for warding off fatigue.

Lift up prayers for the grace for your body to respond well to the good physical food it eats and the soul to benefit from the good food of God’s Word it eats too so you can work out your salvation and others without any chronic disease in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
We are stewards of our bodies and souls. We will be judged concerning what we fed them with.
