BE CAREFUL OF WHAT YOU EAT
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 12
³All ate the same spiritual food, ⁴and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.
-I Corinthians 10:3-4 | NKJV
As we had been talking about physical food for a while, let us channel into the spiritual food as well. When God created man, He made us to exist in two realms: the spiritual and the physical; the body to rule the physical and the soul to rule the spiritual. Because God wanted man to be conscious that they weren’t self made as we know now, He placed a desire of hunger and thirst for food and drink to seek out the things He had created physically as food. So the creatures will lead us to the Creator. If that did not work too, we can also seek Him as our spiritual food and drink for our souls because He is the Word of God. There is a certain purpose why food was provided or made by God.
God made food not because of our hunger or water not because of thirst, but because we will be reminded that we have a Creator who is our Lord and God. The spiritual food is the flesh of Jesus Christ and the spiritual drink is the blood of Jesus Christ. This is what is physically represented as the ‘PASSOVER LAMB’ during the night of the Exodus and ‘COMMUNION’ during the last supper. The body of Jesus Christ and His blood are what we need to eat and drink so our souls can live. As life is in the blood, eternal life is also in His blood. When you have His blood in you as the seal of covenant, it is then the Holy Spirit can come and live in you. No blood of any being is capable of hosting Him apart of Jesus’s.
This is because the Holy Spirit can only stay in the blood of Jesus Christ which is the spiritual drink or water. No wonder the Holy Spirit was seen upon the deep or the water in Genesis 1:2. Jesus Christ is also the Word of God who is being preached and taught. You will hear Preachers and Teachers around which may be a casual ministration but where you normally find yourself in an eatery of God’s Word, is a denomination. Where you go to church is very important because the spiritual food that the soul gets from there is what will make or unmake him. Physically, you can’t just eat anything just because you are hungry or you feel it is food. That is what the soul also need.
You can’t stay in a ‘ghost church’ and expect your soul to grow well. The soul grows as the body grows when it is well fed. The soul gets matured as he grows from one grace to another, glory to another, and from one level of Christianity to the other. The spiritual food and drink you are getting from a denomination is what will lead you into New Jerusalem or lead you into lake of fire. Physically, you may see you are prospering, but your soul might be weak, blind, lame, crippled, leprous, or spiritually dead. There are many people who have been in their churches for many years, but they are still baby Christians. Instead of becoming teachers, they are still students.
•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for the Holy Spirit to signal you if you are in a ghost church. Lift up prayers for spiritual growth concerning the unadulterated Word you receive as spiritual food and drink in the name of Jesus Christ.
Quote
To have eternal life, it also depends on the denomination you find yourself in because many denominations are ‘ghost churches.’
