EXCOMMUNICATION
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 2

So the GREAT DRAGON WAS CAST OUT, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; HE WAS CAST TO THE EARTH, AND HIS ANGELS WERE CAST OUT WITH HIM.
-Revelation 12:9 | NKJV

It is not today that excommunication started in the church. It first started in heaven. In that case, excommunication is not a strange thing at all. If you are physically excommunicated before, or you are still serving
the ban, don’t lose heart. It is better to be physically excommunicated than to be spiritually excommunicated. For yours, your excommunication is time-bound but for Satan and his angels, it is forever. Once upon a time a holy, very rich, wealthy, all-powerful, all-knowing king lived. He was so gracious, generous, loving, and merciful towards his subordinates. Though this king was married to a very beautiful woman, He was not giving birth.

Years passed and passed, yet He was still not procreating, so it looked as if he was impotent. Because of this, some of his subordinates started misbehaving. The respect and honour He deserved started paling off. They earnestly expected Him to bear a son, yet, He was still not giving birth. So finally, some of His subordinates rebelled against Him but the others who respected and honoured Him even though it looked as if He was impotent, fought against the wicked ones and they were casted out or excommunicated from their residence eternally. After that battle, then salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of the King were made full, for the troubling subordinates were excommunicated.

After the troubling subordinates were excommunicated, they didn’t think of repentance. Their sins became more and more until their conscience were seared beyond repentance. They started pursuing the wife of the king and influenced her to practise extramarital affairs so the King would divorce her. But the more she was adulterous, the more the king loved her. Little did the troubling subordinates and those who respected Him knew that He was not impotent because His Son was in Him. Because He was waiting for the perfect time to bear His Son, He was not fidgeting to give Him out unprepared. The King counselled the wife, yet she was not listening.

That was because the excommunicated subordinates were calling shorts at her. Finally the time came and the King bore a child to His wife (Israel) whose name was called Jesus Christ. He spoke of Him that He was His beloved Son in whom He was well pleased. He openly declared to the excommunicated subordinates (fallen angels) that He was an impotent God but a fruitful King. They thought He was an impotent King and that was why they misbehaved in His church, yet, they got it twisted. Lacking understanding about who God is, is what makes us sin and get excommunication in the process. If angels were not spared of excommunication, then believers will not be, too.

Lift up prayers for understanding about who God is, so you will have a profound respect, fear, honour, dignity, and reverence for Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
It is better to be physically excommunicated by the church than to be spiritually excommunicated by the twenty-four elders.
