THE PASTORAL SEAT
David Abankwah
SERIES: Day 11

And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some PASTORS and teachers,
-Ephesians 4:11 | NKJV

After Abraham – the first Prophet returned from the slaughter of kings and was heading towards home, he met a certain Priest. This Priest was called Melchizedek (Hebrews 7:1). This Melchizedek was the first person to sit on the seat of Pastors. There are two main things about the seat of Melchizedek: Kingship (Judgement) and Pastoral. For the Pastoral seat, you can seek to do some like the work of an Evangelist and not imparted like the Prophetic seat. But those who are chosen to sit on the Pastoral seat, are spiritually imparted with the kingship and pastoral qualities of the seat of Melchizedek. Every chosen Pastor executes judgement in righteousness.

Every chosen Pastor is served like a king. He doesn’t need to command respect and submission. It is given to him or her at will because he sits on the seat of a King. Every chosen Pastor rules with the power from on high. He subdues and dominates physically and spiritually. If there may be evil spirits in the church, when a chosen Pastor gets there, they submit themselves to him or her on their own. Every chosen Pastor is spiritually gifted with the anointing, grace, wisdom, and knowledge to rule the church. Every chosen Pastor is lifted up by God and unveils him or her to the world. It is not you who will make yourself famous but it is the seat of Melchizedek that you are sitting on that makes you so.

Every chosen Pastor is also a king of righteousness. Everything about his or her life is about righteousness. Every chosen Pastor preaches and teaches righteousness, holiness, and sanctification. The congregation of a chosen Pastor walks in righteousness. So if you know any Pastor whose sermons are mainly centred on prosperity, then that Pastor is not sitting on the seat of Melchizedek. Every chosen Pastor shifts your attention from the earth or carnal things into heavenly or spiritual things. He shifts your mind from working for the flesh towards working for the salvation of your soul. His success is measured by quality Christians and not quantity believers.

One thing about the seat of Melchizedek (Pastoral seat) is that, the same seat is a seat of the tribe of Levi and the same seat is the seat of the tribe of Judah. Amos 3:3 states that: Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? So there cannot be one seat and host two tribes without agreement. Meaning, the Pastoral seat is all about PEACE. Chosen Pastors create peace within the congregation by bridging rifts between offended believers. They also don’t confuse the congregation with high-minded preachings and teachings, but down-to-earth ones so at the end of it all, the congregation can easily understand.

•| Prayer Diary |•
Lift up prayers for spiritual tenacity for chosen Pastors to flow in the kingship and Priestly anointing in all righteousness, holiness, and sanctification in the name of Jesus Christ.

Quote
The first person to be in Pastoral ministry was Melchizedek. His seat is about righteousness and peace.
